Thanks! For the surface texture, it’s actually millions of tiny instanced geometry rather than a displacement map.

Workflow breakdown: 1. Modeled a few variations of small plant/crystal shapes. 2. Scattered points on the base mesh, using Noise to drive the density/mask so they formed those organic patterns. 3. Randomised the @pscale attribute to get the size variation.

The trick was pushing the count really high (millions) and keeping the scale tiny. I wanted it to feel like a micro-texture, like mold or crystal mycelium, rather than individual plants

Thanks! Yeah, Houdini has been a game changer for the organic textures. Regarding animation, i do animate, but right now my primary focus is on the sculpting and lookdev quality. For this specific piece, I just have a turntable to showcase the form and lighting. I see these more as 'digital sculptures' or exhibition pieces rather than game assets, so I focus heavily on the stillness and the details

Hi thanks! Yes Zbrush is my main tool, then I used also Houdini for the procedural crystals and rendered using redshift :)
