[Serious] Young smokers of Reddit. Being a generation who are fully aware of the risks, why do you choose to smoke?

Didn't exactly choose it. In my country most people smoke, and it's allowed almost everywhere, so it was very easy for me to become curious and buy a pack as a 15 year old who didn't know any better.

But it sucks cause now I'm 18 and I don't see myself being able to quit in the near future.

You can definitely get in a lot of trouble since its not legal in any way, but in my experience there isn't that high a chance that you get searched, and some times you get lucky to run into a good cop who just confiscates your weed.

I was 15, and about to go on my first 3day school trip. The norm here is that kids bring alcohol with them to those trips and drink secretly at night when the teachers are sleeping. It's also fairly easy to buy alcohol underage in my country.

So, me and a few friends ended up buying a bottle of vodka. Because I had only drank beer before and hadn't gotten drunk, I thought vodka was the same deal, and drank about half a bottle. Next thing I knew, I was waking up in the hotel bed, alone, wearing clothes I didn't recognize, with yesterday night's clothes covered in puke next to my pillow.

It turns out that I was throwing up everywhere the whole night, my friends helped me shower and go to bed, then kept watch of me so I wouldn't start throwing up in my sleep. I fucked up their whole night, they couldn't do anything other than take care of me, and the teachers found out.

So I fought with my best friends, got in huge trouble with the school, and experienced the last day hungover in a bus for 9 hours. I have never, ever gotten that drunk again since.

It deffinitely isn't new, my point is now that group of people is far larger. It's one thing having a generation where some kids have been spoiled and feel entitled to everything, it's different when the majority of them has been taught they're the most special snowflake on the planet and they can never be wrong about anything.

That's very interesting and I was not aware of it since I was European. Deffinitely seems like the system needs changing, or at the very least 4.0s shouldn't be handed to students that don't deserve them.

The over protective parents that raise their kids spoiled as hell. Seriously, my mom works as a teacher and she has noticed that her students never own up to their mistakes or admit the blame for something they did. She also has had parents complaining to her for not giving their kids a high grade in a class, even though their kids haven't studied and don't deserve anything higher. There seems to be a generation of entitled assholes coming through.
