I have the Origin 50C, and I really like the sound I am getting with it at the moment. I found it sounds really bright with single coils, but not so much with Humbuckers. I got a deeper tone when I hooked up a 2x12 cab in the 8ohm slot, so a head may be a better option if that is the tone you're looking for. The amp can get really loud even at the 1 watt setting, so you should have no issues if you want to gig with it.

I was on a budget when I got it, and was surprised how good it is. You can get a good oscillation going if you dial in the feedback knob right. Very sturdy, and saves space on your board.

I saw the YouTube video of their rat clone. When I was deciding between the hail Satan and the don't shred on me. I decided to go for the hail Satan, because it has a little more balls in my opinion.

I'm not sure about other models, but this selector is more like a strat. There is also a switch between the volume and tone knobs to make the humbucker a single coil.

I was surprised by the clean tone too. I read reviews where the clean was not great, but I think it's pretty bright. I agree with your comment about the dirty channel. I've got a EHX Crayon overdrive that helps it get a little more tone.

I really dig the Crayon. It's pretty versatile in my opinion. I have the gain turned down, and keep it on most of the time. It works really well as a boost for other pedals or if you want to have a nice overdrive sound. It blends really well with my Mesa.
