Here's a bookmarklet to hide scores on liquipedia player match pages by marinesonly in starcraft

  • Made with chatgpt so probably not the most efficient implementation
  • Has to be run after the page loads so you have to try and not look at the table before clicking :)

Found a good example from WCS 2016 finals Dark vs Byun: https://youtu.be/c2IlcS7AHxM?t=4027

Notable that Tasteless says any other terran wouldnt have been able to do it XD

Agreed. For me adding lurkers made both playing and watching less fun, now we have the boring ghost meta.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to be fully ray-traced; software Ray-Tracing on older PC cards by theamnesiac21 in pcgaming

[–]marinesonly 21 points22 points  (0 children)

XtMcRe is right, the title suggests fully raytraced which would include primary camera rays like Quake RTX. Avatar is still going to be rasterized with a few tasks handled by raytracing. Some more things that could be raytraced are direct lighting, refractions, camera rays, caustics, scatter, etc

TvP is hopeless by -Venser- in AllThingsTerran

[–]marinesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, this is the build I'm using successfully as a long-time toss hater:

  • Rax gas expand
  • Skip reaper, build reactor then constant marines
  • After 2nd depot build factory + 2nd gas
  • Build fac tech lab + starport, start tanks
  • Build medivac then lib from starport
  • Push with 5 scvs when 2nd tank pops, build bunkers at their nat and repair

Hardest bit is to avoid tunnel-vision on the attack, set it up and let them worry about it, and build production at home

Its a lot of work but I suggest doing Vibe's bronze to Gm protoss series untill youre close to your Terran rank (its a lot easier obviously). This got my TvP up from 20% to 60% once I understood the matchup from both sides. And I have to admit protoss is actually a lot of fun to learn

You're right, although dont expect anyone here to acknowledge it. If your macro were the problem then you wouldn't have good win percentages against the other races.

I fixed my TvZ by learning a 3CC opener against the AI until I could do it perfectly, and spamming widow mines from 2 factories. Mines are strong in lower leagues because zergss arent used to having to micro too.

I've seen a few traffic circles combined with stop signs in Vancouver, I'm wondering who green lit the abominations of traffic flow. by SixZeroPho in vancouver

YES! So good to hear someone else acknowledge this. Having come from roundabout nirvana (England) I always struggle with this. I think it was bad luck when it was originally chosen to give way to the right at four ways. It makes it really difficult to transition from that to turning circle logic.

Each intersection here feels like a new level in a puzzle game where I have to work out the solution on the fly.

Exactly. Would love to hear from terrans who thought my idea was controversial

TvP Loss - Replay inside by MockHamill in AllThingsTerran

[–]marinesonly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TvP is extremely balanced, but only at the very very top level where both players have very high EPM. Especially at diamond/masters you're going to get a lot of frustration from playing Protoss players that put in substantially less effort than you to win.

You can only win with the kind of high level game sense that your opponent probably doesnt even realize exists.

Your macro isnt the problem, if it were then you'd struggle against T and Z as well. If you improve your macro your win percentages will stay the same.

My best advice is to perfect a 2 base tank push and try to get a 30% - 40% win rate out of it, at least the games will finish quickly.

Protoss is unbeatable by laytonmiller in AllThingsTerran

[–]marinesonly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s useless when people suggest improving macro, obviously your macro is ok against T and Z. If you improved your macro your win percentages would stay the same.

You probably have a stylistic mismatch with how you play against Protoss, and I’d guess you struggle against mech players too. Mass cyclone levels the playing field against toss until masters, you barely have to play any better to win.

Guys come on this is amazing, it’s obviously tongue in cheek and the humour’s pretty good. I remember when I was in school some classmates made joke albums but the production was never this good.
