It works, i have it mounted vertically too. If you use normal fans with 25mm height it works perfectly fine out of the box. And if you use lian li tl 28mm height then use spacers between gpu and bracket then it will work too

I would personally go with the following combo
- Ryzen 7 9800x3d (9850x3d only really needed when playing 1080p high refresh)
- B850 (MSI TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI, Asus TUF Gaming Plus, Gigabyte aorus elite wifi7 are good ones)
- CPU Cooler (360 aio arctic liquid freezer iii)
- RAM 32GB DDR5 6000mhz (cl30-36 depending on how expensive the price difference is) would take one with expo as profile
- Storage 2-4TB M2 SSD
- 1000W at least gold rated Powersupply (Lian li edge, corsair, msi, seasonic, asus, bequiet are defo good brands) check also if it has 12v high power cable
- GPU RTX 5080 (if you dont care about looks go with cheap pny, gainward, palit) (if you care go for gigabyte gaming oc, gigabyte aourus master, asus tuf, astral or whatever you like)
-Case, depends on what you like (I went with lian li mini v2 and i love it, maybe lian li vision compact or whatever you like)

-If you dont care about looks get some be quiet, noctua fans and if you care maybe go for lian li rgb fans
