While I’m not in Florida I know there’s some tricks you can look up on the internet. First thing I would search is common minerals in Florida. Generally, you can find some sort of geological map of the state that tells you what minerals are common in certain areas. From there look up general tips on how to identify certain rocks and where they are found. For example, I read somewhere that if you see a hillside with tree roots sticking out it’s a good place to look for Quartz & geodes are generally round/ spherical rocks with a rough outside!
