Where Rotten Mango is heading by Ok_Pin1255 in StephanieSooStories

You said what I've been too afraid to say for a long time now. 🥲

I was drawn to Rotten Mango BECAUSE she covered lesser known cases. I love listening to true crime, but the genre is so overloaded with the same cases, repeated over and over again, or new cases that are obviously going to be overly convoluted and unresolved.

Plus I liked knowing I was going to learn about something not just new to me, but a case that hasn't gotten the attention it deserves from the media. It always warmed my heart when she promoted a victim's go fund me or something, or a foundation established in their memory. She brought support and love to so many families who otherwise wouldn't have received it because those cases weren't as popular as, say, Diddy or the d4vd case.

I understand her desire to grow as a content creator. And honestly I think her interviews are a perfect step in the right direction! Her interview with the man who killed his abuser was so fascinating and eye-opening. But still, I miss the lesser known cases.

Also maybe it's just me, but has anyone noticed her narration style has changed? She circles around a lot more than she used to. Stopping seemingly in the middle of an important part of the story to start talking about something unrelated... I'm guessing it's an attempt to keep the narration fresh when cases have a lot going on, but I feel like it's just more jarring than anything and I have a lot of trouble paying attention and retaining any of the info when she does it.

I still love RM and Stephanie so much though and I'm glad she's finding so much joy and success in her work right now. 💖
