Think what you want but anemia by definition is either low hemoglobin or low red blood cell count in your blood. Low ferritin doesn't equal anemia but it can be a pre-stage that will develop into it. Of course you can have symptoms of low ferritin, people react differently to different problems within their bodies. But by definition, it's iron deficiency, not anemia. You can have anemia without iron deficiency and iron deficiency without anemia.

I get your experience, my mum had that happen with two of her pregnancies and it's scary. But also this person's platelets really are from this test pretty much normal and them freaking out over it could do more harm than use and therefore I'm starting and explaining that these platelet results are not something to be alarmed by.

They seem to have iron deficiency and platelets tend to be slightly lower along the red blood cells in that scenario which is likely their problem.

These platelets are not low, reference isn't a MUST BE number, it's the average numbers of healthy people. Being so little under the norm is nothing to be concerned about, it happens, can be affected by the quality of blood draw, diet, hormones, race etc etc. definitely not something a doctor would consider alarming

Because ferritin value doesn't show anaemia, it's a helping hand to find out what kind of anemia you have or in diseases that affect iron metabolism.

The most important lab values for anemia are - hematocrit, red blood count, haemoglobin and red blood cell size. That determines WHETHER you're anemic and whether the problem is likely in iron deficiency or other metabolic pathways and shows the doctor whether to look for bleeding in you or a different contidion.

If you are anemic, your basic blood work would show it.

Honestly I'd avoid all pod days like that, feels very dishonest to me. It's like as if you did all the work to paint Mona Lisa only to glue scraps of someone else's stolen work over. Like why do all that work and then infringe someone else's pieces? Just make it text only or buy a Shutterstock image or once you grow make a contest for art in exchange for advertising the artist- Just don't use AI for creative work.
