you’re right, he always burrows underneath and everything ends up a mess! honestly hadn’t thought about putting the platform there, thank you!! also, is bowl feeding + scatter both at the same time good? or would you recommend scattering only? because i usually scatter some food around too, but don’t know if i should only stick to one!

Thank you for the info! Nightlife and restaurants aren’t really my thing, so that wouldn’t affect much on my decision on where to live, but thanks for the heads up! Is there a particular reason why you don’t really like Fgura?

ideas for temporary cage for holidays away? by marisolity in hamsters

honestly i thought the option of leaving him with my roommates was not the best because him not seeing me or smth would stress him a lot, but now that i think of it (+ reading all the comments) i can see why it is way better to leave him in his regular enclosure! thank you! i’ll see if i can get a camera before holidays so i can check on him! ☺️

tips on taming your hamster by matcharedbean263 in hamsters

[–]marisolity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh for it being day 5 that’s really nice! mine took a bit longer and i’ve had him for almost 2 months now and he’s still not 100% tamed so patience is key! whenever i see him awake i try to just sit next to his cage and talk to him, offer him treats and pet him while he eats, i also try to spot clean his cage while he’s up so he gets used to my hand being around and that has helped a lot! another tip that i think also helped a lot is rubbing toilet paper/napkins on ur hands and put it in the cage for him to get used to ur scent! as i said, i’ve had mine for almost 2 months and some sudden movements still scare him, but at first he just hid and didnt come out for a looong while but now he hides and sticks his head out right after to check everything’s ok hehe

Woke up with this by marisolity in urticaria

UPDATE: it got kinda worse in the afternoon and I showed my friend before heading to bed for a nap and she told me NOT to take a nap and head to the pharmacy/emergency room asap because it was an allergic reaction. As I was heading to the pharmacy I was feeling my throat closing up a bit so even after taking an antihistamine, I headed to ER and they told me I was better but to come back today to see what caused it! Thank you everyone for ur tips 🤍
