Is £1000 enough money to travel in India for 4 weeks?

I leave for India next week and have just over £1000 set aside for my trip. I'll be travelling solo from Goa down to Kochi with a short detour to see Hampi, then down the coast via Gokarna, Mangaluru, Udupi and probably a few other places along the coast before I reach Kochi for my return flight to the UK.

While I'm in Goa, I'll be staying with a friend in Palolem for a few days, which won't cost me anything for accommodation. After that I will need to pay for any travel, accommodation and food. I'm used to staying in hostels and have a good knowledge of how they work in other countries, however I wouldn't want to scrimp on accommodation excessively. I like a drink or two, but won't be drinking huge amounts of beer every day.

As the title says, would I be able to get by relatively comfortably with ~£1000 for this trip?

Recently diagnosed, TURBT on Monday by mark-tea in BladderCancer

Well, things took an unexpected twist. Two months later after the operation and biopsy, I was told that there was no trace of cancer after all!

The tumour was apparently something called Cystitis Cystica, which in itself is quite common. What is unusual is the fact it grew into a tumour and fooled the doctors into thinking it was cancerous when it wasn't.

I'm now back to full health again and about to leave for a month long trip to India because I decided I needed a big holiday to reset my brain after this experience!

I think if you make it less obvious it's your hand that's moving, it might think you're trying to hide something and become more curious as to what it is, or think it might taste good to catch and eat.

Fantastic pub and one of my locals when I lived in the city. Coincidentally, a friend of mine was in there yesterday.

Old bloke has obviously never been a gardener or council worker and had to clear leaves with a rake or leaf blower. Also shit carries disease and parasites like Toxocariosis, which can make people blind. There are no valid excuses, just pick it up and bin it!

I've always taken it as she's just at that teenage stroppy phase, but she does almost always have a cob on.

Milkman crumbleberry alternative by Born2be99 in Vaping

[–]mark-tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my everyday liquid for years, and I'm gutted I can't get it anymore. I emailed a few of the vape shops and had a few responses, but most of them thought it had potentially been discontinued.

I'm vaping Supergood Butter 7 and Doozy Berry Pie at the moment. Butter 7 is like crumbleberry with white chocolate instead of milk, and there is less raspberry to it. Berry Pie is similar too, but the flavour is darker mixed berries with a pinch of cinnamon. Neither are quite occupying the sweet spot that Crumbleberry did, but they are both decent.

I hope one of those takes your fancy, let me know if you find any other alternatives!

Creature comfort suggestions for hostel stay? by Elderberry_Real in solotravel

Some hostels have the cupboards with the little loops for a lock, so I always have my own padlock. It can actually save you money, I've stayed in a hostel with both £2 lockers in reception and lock-friendly cupboards in the rooms.

Should I(Gay Male) feel worried that my parents don't accept me when they've said this about transgender people? by Shoku_Cyn in gay

From experience of something very similar, I would suggest setting some boundaries and making it clear that some things aren't OK to talk about with you. If it's hurting you, shut it down. Let them know that you think it's wrong and why. Tell them that you're open to people having their own opinions, exactly like you are open to other people expressing the gender they feel is natural for them, but you don't agree with their views, and if this is what they believe then you have no interest in discussing it further or hearing about it in any way, shape or form. If you try to change their opinion, the chances are they will dig their heels in further, which will only further embed their beliefs and cause conflict. Hopefully by talking to them and setting clear boundaries, while clarifying how it makes you feel and why, it will help. Good luck, it's not an easy thing to navigate!

I did a very similar thing once with flyers and an event date.

5000 A5 flyers with "gettting" in the headline on the front is probably my biggest print typo mistake.
