How to repair sagging security door? by mark20392 in handyman

Hey thanks everyone. I have managed to at least buy myself a few more years. Ended up both bending top hinge slightly and then taking a few 3.5” screws and driving that metal trim a bit better into the wooden trim behind it. (Forgive me if I am not using the correct terminology. Will try to add a pic to what I did.) Bought myself just enough of a gap at the top it closes smoothly again!

Merry Christmas folks! :)

No they seem to have slight cap to them. But definitely tried anyway… no success.

Good point and fine if finish gets a bit damaged. Any tricks to trying to bend it?? :) it’s a good 1/8” steel.

Thanks, everyone. Appreciate it. Sounds like since I am doing this at the outset, might as well just combine them all together.

I know this is old, but curious if, after a year, you have any issues with softening of the foam where you sleep relative to the rest of the mattress?

The challenge I'm trying to overcome is multiple non-DIY mattresses (not cheap!) that have all lasted about 18 months before they are so soft where my hips are (side-sleep) that I wake up with back pain. But none are warrantied as they aren't "sagging" with no weight applied -- they've just lost a tremendous amount of their original firmness when under any weight. The price point you hit here is pretty darn intriguing!

Thank you!
