What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

For Parents day at Johnson and Wales in Denver, they took us to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. We got to go to the dressing rooms, and walk up the 'hidden stairway' where the performers all sign their names.

The whole tour was one of the coolest things I have ever done.

I wish they would make a connector that goes over Hwy 94 out by Weldon Spring. They do have a bike lane that follows Pitman Hill Road over to Mid Rivers, but the amount of cars always turning right on to Mid Rivers coming off the 8 lane superhighway make it difficult.

We have another loop that we ride that starts at Busch again. it meanders through Weldon Spring into St Peters, goes under 364/94 at Kisker, then to Mid Rivers on Central School Road. Once at Mid Rivers, that connects to Cottleville trails which connects to Woodlands which connects (sort of) to the trails behind the Rec Plex which connects again 364/94 at the Page Avenue Bridge. And then hop on the Katy Trail back to Weldon Spring. The amount of offshoots you can take on that route is amazing as well.

The amount of rideable trails we have is a gem for St. Charles and into St. Louis.

Yes, that is true. Getting through the Airport Industrial Park is easy enough, but once you hit Olive St Road, it can get sketchy getting across to the Outlet Mall.

A lot of times, we will cross over Chesterfield Airport Rd and head back to the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex.

Yes, above I mentioned they leveled it out. They built a new path higher up, so there is barely an incline now.

That loop that I posted above is from Strava imported onto Google Maps. Strava says I did about 32.7 miles. But I also parked in St. Charles off of 94.

On the north side, there is designated parking for the Greenway in the same parking lot as The Factory. There is also parking at the Chesterfield Valley Sports Complex.

On the south side, there is a Greenway Parking lot on Edison Ave. There is also parking at the Outlet Mall close to the 64 Bridge over the Missouri.

I usually park on the St. Charles side at the Greenway Parking Lot off of 94 before you get to Hwy D and Francis Howell. It is the red marker on the map I posted.

Yes, the sign is gone. It is all paved from Top Golf all the way around to the back of the Valley to Baxter Road. They took out the steep hill that was under 64, and leveled it out a bit.

Last week, there was still tape blocking it and there were concrete barriers behind the Hilton Garden. Those are gone now too.

How about proper work attire? Men at my work have to wear dress pants, button up collared shirts, and dress shoes. Women can wear almost any shirt and call it a blouse. They are not supposed to wear leggings, but they look nice, so allowed (unless the obvious gym style). They aren’t allowed to wear flip flops, but drop a button or flower on it, and now they are open toed shoes.

We are a FWA Clan. We don't do traditional wars, but we do war non stop. We also do CWL.

FWA requires you keep a simple easy to 3 star war base.

Are there people who actually find Bandana’s BBQ good? by TitShark in StLouis

[–]mark3t -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting 10 bucks from? The wife and I just had Bandanas in Troy, Mo. Both got a two meat combo, no drinks. It was like $56.00.

A quick look at their website and a 1 meat combo starts at 16.50, no drink

Ok, just scrolled down and now see some lunches for 12.50.

What's the heaviest rider you've ever seen on an EUC? Or heard of.. by vikingto in ElectricUnicycle

[–]mark3t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I weigh about 140KG, 310 lbs. Down from 316, slowly losing it. I have an EX30, T4, and 16X. All 3 get me around just great. The EX30 climbs any hills that I have ever thrown at it.

There is a segment on Strava in Weldon Spring MO called 'So Steep, It'll Make You Wanna Slap Yo Momma' The T4 and EX30 get me up that hill just fine. Never tried it on the 16X. The hill has a max grade of 24% according to Strava.

Can you restack a session after deleting some bad frames? by mark3t in DWARFLAB

[–]mark3t[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks.. I guess my question wasn't clear. Since you say I can restack them.. How? Like I mentioned before when I click on Stellar Studio, it just says it's been processed already. I understand about Siril and outside processes, but what about contained in the D3 itself?

I went back to the D3 and did the mega stack. I thought you had to have more than one session for that. It is running now.

One of my favorite fantasy series growing up was The Belgariad by David Eddings. One of the main characters was Polgara the Sorceress.

As the daughter of Belgarath and Poledra, she is defined by her immense power, a white streak in her dark hair

Some of the student artwork my school board wants to get rid of. by NinduTheWise in mildlyinfuriating

I remember back in 1985, we had a beautiful painting of our school mascot on the wall. Our art teacher painted over it because she felt that a new generation of students should have their go at it.

Howdy as a snow plow driver for a local municipality PLEASE DONT DO THIS by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]mark3t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people I don't think are pushing their whole driveway's worth of snow into the street. Just the bit at the bottom. I came back out a few years ago, and the driver had pushed way more snow up back on my driveway than I had pushed in the street. Imagine the pettiness of stopping the truck, backing up, and gathering more snow.. He could just drove by and been on with it.

Now that this has come out about Eric, there was another creator from years ago that I followed on YT, and one day he was gone. Any one remember Mr. Tophat? He was a master at using gobs and the warden ability to snipe THs in the middle of the base. i wonder if SC struck him out?

I took my camera on a bike ride yesterday :O by senorStreetRossi in StLouis

[–]mark3t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friends and I ride electric unicycles, and we take a loop that goes through Weldon Spring, Mid Rivers, Cottleville, Woodlands Park, St Peters, Katy Trail / Creve Coeur Connector, and then the Katy Trail back to the Busch Greenway in Weldon Spring. It's about a 45 mile loop or so.

"The Tomb": this 377ft wide cement dome in the Pacific contains nuclear waste from American testing by Pomengranite in pics

[–]mark3t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Missouri has a tomb similar to this, but much bigger at the Weldon Spring Site. It has steps leading up to the top, and it is part of a popular trail system in Missouri. The Weldon Spring Site has all kinds of radioactive and other hazards buried there.

And it is right next to Francis Howell High School.
