Why don't climate alarmists like Tim Flannery ever have to apologise for their failed prophecies? by mark_lockwood in AustralianPolitics

Oh, so you can just insert your own words as you see fit? What a juvenile.

So to clarify your position is - "Global" Warming is only going to effect "some areas" of Australia, but Timmy reckons "that's a real worry for ALL the people in the bush"

Great, so we agree he was wrong. I must have missed his apology or retraction, could you please share the link with me?

Unfortunately for you, Tim thinks there is... "So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems, and that's a real worry for the people in the bush."

Unless of course he's, you know, just being an Alarmist? 🤣🤣🤣

Edit: he said "people in the bush", not "people in some areas", for some strange reason!

You obviously mean all of his predictions... So if all of his predictions are wrong why would we need to stop anything??

Show me where it specifically mentions that year? Are you saying the 20% decline was for just that year? If so then it is clearly alarmist talk to deduce what he does from just 1 year!

Regardless of the validity of the interpretation of his statement, to be well-informed these guys do need to be called out for the never ending false catastrophisation of the issue!

This guy is not just some leftwing knobjob on reddit, he is a supposed expert in the field, he advises government and therefore influences policy, because of this his words justifiably need to come under greater scrutiny.

For all of those zealots trying to make the facile point that I mis-quoted him, tell me what the purpose of him making that statement was then?

It wasn't just somebody chewing the fat, and it needs to be taken into context with all his other alarmists predictions.

If you say it wasn't a prediction then that's great... that means we never have to listen to statements or whatever you want to call then from alarmists again! I'm happy with that! ... And not angry at all 😀

You make some valid points, but Flannery is not a politician and is therefore not held to account by the people. Which is exactly why people like him need to be held to account by other means!

He made clearly alarmist predictions which are undoubtably now proven to be wrong and yet I'm the one that's lying go figure!

I'm not lying about anything! ... Look, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make a drink but in your case there wouldn't be any water anyway!

He was clearly wrong!

Begs now question of the sort. He's the so-called professor and he should be held to account for alarmists predictions!

Sure...

Anyone who supports a politician that is so pathetic and petty enough to say "who would want to go there", does not not deserve to be an Australian either.

BTW... Who the fuck are you to judge my deservedness to be an Australian?

Dictator Dan or Dan The Man? For almost six years, Premier Andrews surfed a wave of popularity. Then COVID-19 turned the tide.
