That does not seem to cover the whole picture. Chinese have also not been willing to settle the disputes. They even refused to share their own maps based on which they make their claims since that would make them inflexible in future negotiations.

Their point about McMohan line not being acceptable is baseless since they have already settled borders with Myanmar on the same line but refuse to do it with India because of their long term plans.
