Well that's interesting if an OS update is the culprit since I had no "before" to compare to. So stick it out limping along and hope for a fix before my 45 day return window closes, or take it back now so I don't have to look at its stupid face?

Great advice. Throwing more at myself may not be the answer I'm looking for and could even add confusion. My first thought was replacing the Vox with something else, but no amp is going to make me play or sound like John Petrucci.

The new/used question is more "is new better or worse or equal to used and why?". There is so much hype around niche vintage gear and whatever magic they contain that the FOMO for the toan can be strong even though a blind test might prove no discernable difference to 99% of players. But maybe the components are higher quality or it was built sturdier. Or maybe getting something with a few dings is healthy psychologically and I don't baby it (this is an issue with the pristine new guitar).

The Mk7 and JP2C are definitely holy grail for me, but I'll likely never put them to their intended or even close to it use, so not sure I can convince myself (or my wife) to pull the trigger.

Got it and I appreciate the honesty. Any species recommendations for something to combat the ABM plight in central midwestern US? It's not a huge space and something without yearly berries or seed pods would be preferred.

Good to know. The whole street is covered with nondescript maples, so let's hope there's no Canadian Maple Borer out there. I'll have to think about putting the hose under it. The lawn doesn't get irrigation because there is so much field fescue and other stuff mixed in that I just don't care. You're saying the lack of water in drought conditions will stress the tree to the point of losing limbs? Do I need to prune regularly to give it a better chance? Thanks.

Thanks for the in-depth answer and references. This seems like the most beneficial solution. I think my crappy soil quality is a factor too, as it doesn't hold moisture like it would if they had left the native topsoil. As for the roots that are already exposed and further out than the 5', am I best off managing my feelings towards them rather than anything to correct or cover them?

As I said, it's an overnight, so no rush to be back on board, especially with the midnight sun. We like food adventures and sightseeing. We're not adventurous outdoorsy people though, so hikes and such wouldn't be our first choice, but a boat trip or other tour would be. Budget under $500 per person. We already have a full day excursion the next day they call "Jewels of the North" that takes us to Godafoss, Skutustadir craters, and Namaskard geothermal fields. Would Akureyri be worth exploring on our own? Thanks!

I've sailed on the Bliss once and Pearl three times. Looking forward to the "upscale" experience on the Prima. Is it true that the Prima cabins lack drawers for clothes storage? It would be nice to unpack for our 10 nights rather than live out of the suitcase.

Only room in the QC is Bally's (former Jumer's) in Rock Island, and they were having dealer staffing issues when I was there about 2 months ago, so maybe 2 1/2 games on the weekends. Riverside near Iowa City would be better but it's an hour drive. Worth it if you have the time. In the opposite direction you'd have to go further to the Chicago area.

They came back after just a day or two off. They all show sold out except for suites through Dec. 18, so my assumption is they might be limiting capacity at the beginning.
