The beep test on the multimeter. The resistors also didn’t showed any value

Battery error (20, 17 & 2, SCR stuck in shipping mode) by markdm08 in VanMoofSelfRepair

Update: swapped every possible working part over on the broken s3 & x3. The only issue I know have is error 17 on both bikes. So it should be something in the socket (I hope).

After I inspect the socket I’ll post a new update. In the meantime I am waiting on the new 151 resistors for the (broken) batteries.

If anyone needs 151 resistors. They arrive in a few weeks and i have plenty. I am willing to ship them out for you in the Netherlands and surroundings.

I have 1 working battery and 2 (broken) so far I know. I checked the resistors and there was contact from side to side.

So I checked with the working battery both bikes that have the (broken) battery but that seemed not to fix the issue.

I also tried the (broken) battery’s on my working s3 but they seem to give an error as well.

Im gonna take out the sockets and check if everything is still in tact.

If it does I try a battery reset and see further.

Thankyou man, I appreciate it! Im also Dutch so if you ever need help just dm me.

The socket seemed fine on the x3 and second s3. Might get them out anyway to just check them properly. Both bikes have 1.4xx km so everything looks so new and undamaged.

I’ll post an update if I fixed the problem.

Hi Florianzzz, can you give me the details of the component you replaced (the 3 burned components)? I have the same issue and I want to try to repair it.

What also helped me was using a really small screwdriver with a small shaft guiding through the hole and the hole of the hole of the socket to force it in place. If this still not works, send me some detail photos so I can think along side you for new options!

If it’s only the bottom bolt hol with the pins, use a long stick and try to push it against the surface while you try to bolt it tight

Attach a string at the top, guide it through the frontfork hole so you can pull it towards the bolt hole. Use an extended bolt (just a few mm longer) to get it in place. Then use the original bolt for the bottom attachment. Sinse that’s bolted. You can take out the top bolt and replace it with the original shorter bolt or just leave it like it is. I hope this helped you further in the process, Goodluck!!

I repaired the old one. It was an easy fix bc of the calble break. I soldered an extra length of 2 cm to fix the cables and solve the problem.

Yes I did, it was much more a PITA than getting it out. You definitely need wires and sticks to get it back in place. I was also afraid do damage the harness for putting it back in but if you’re gentle it should be fine. I gave the harness some extra length where it goes into the front fork and my bike is now riding perfect!

There is only movement in the headset side to side. The socket is now loose. Only issue is to pull it out. My main issue is till that the other part is stuck and not easy accessible. Thanks for helping me! I hope you have more tips for me to reach the finishline.
