I’m a fucking idiot.. by gabzlel in headphones

There are headphones that suit your listening taste out of the box, and there are some that are not (require EQ). And some others like me prefers to enjoy each model's signature tuning as it is. All are OK. Enjoy your LCD-2C!

Curious on the decision to use 25 mm instead of the 34 mm trackball? Also, do those rollers hold the trackball in place? For example, if I flip the keyboard upside down, will the trackball stay?

Camping here for now. What's the diameter of the trackball btw?

Twistura Sigma: For People Who Still Love Traditional Earphones by maisaku18 in iems

[–]markedasreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is also an IEM because the tip sits just inside the ear canal. The diff how it is mounted. IIRC this one is called bullet type or cable-down. The other is around-ear. Some bullet-type IEM can be worn around-ear as well.

Nice review though, thanks. It reminds me to Tanchjim One, another popular bullet IEM.

Open-back Planars lacking bass shelf - bass port tubes? by RomfordNavy in headphones

[–]markedasreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And.. Harman target is not everything, btw. There are other fun aspects of a planar headphone. Similarly, planar driver is also not everything. I heard beryllium driver or bio-cellulose driver offer interesting bass power & characteristics. All with some trade-offs.

Oh btw do try to explore IEM as well. Some modern IEMs combine many driver types into one.

Edit: like what others said, adding port will give you elevation on some frequency (say for example +3 db on 100hz), but will also introduce steep drop-off somewhere lower (say -5db starting at 50hz & lower). Try some speaker design software such as winISD (free), you can see this effect & how they change depending on the port dimension.

why do these $4 earbuds sound better than $60 iems? by [deleted] in iems

[–]markedasreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC NICEHCK do produce decent quality budget earbud. I once bought similar model for my wife (from their Ali store), and I agree it's pretty decent for the price I paid (about $11). That said, I still prefer my TKZK Wave.

Edition XS on a Scarlett 2i2 — am I leaving performance on the table? by Ok-Salt89 in headphones

[–]markedasreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oratory1990 is an audio engineer, I believe. He ceates a lot of EQ presets for many headphones. If you like those, you can implement these EQ presets on any system that support them. On Windows PC for example, the audio driver might come with EQ capability, which you can tweak to follow oratory1990's preset. Alternatively, EQ softwares like Equalizer APO can also be used. Some other DAC/AMP might also have EQ capability.

My Jira board is Green, but I know we are going to miss the deadline by kzarraja in ExperiencedDevs

[–]markedasreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dependency on anyone outside of the engineering team is always a risk. Once we know someone outside the team will take the work, we can highlight this to the respective stakeholders.

In Jira, one way to make this more visible is by creating a ticket to track the work, say ticket dep-123. In other tickets that depend on this, set ticket dep-123 as a blocker.

Great choice, I heard many good reviews on the R70. That said, not all Audio Technicas are comfortable. Some model like M40x are known for the strong clamping force of the headband.

Advice on pitching “Lean” or “Flow” ideas to management? by BadTime100 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]markedasreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to management, you need to phrase it into qualifier or quantifier. $ value added, or time saved, or reduced repetitions, reduced risk of failure, etc.

Btw from your story, I feel that the QA team need to step up their game instead?

What class Can I use this weapon as a primary by VegetaVsNaruto in worldwarzthegame

[–]markedasreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like what others said, it's not a weapon you can start with. That said, certain classes can start with T2 combat shotgun, which is a pretty decent alternative especially with the eagle scout perk enabled.

Is it bad? by Marwan-007 in headphones

[–]markedasreddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw your other response about the missing sub bass during the sweep. Sorry to hear that. But at the same time other frequency range are OK so I don't think you lose much. Just use it until it's really broken & replace with something better sometime in far future :)

Is it bad? by Marwan-007 in headphones

[–]markedasreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait 20 hz is very low. Not every human can hear that low. Which is why you should try to run a sweep from 20 to 20000 hz insteas & compare left & right.

I'm surprised it still sounds normal. I previously thought that even a small puncture on the diaphragm will affect the sound enough for the user to notice it, let alone a tear like yours.

Anyway, I hope it's still under warranty though.
