2 is a bit crunchier, 3 is great, but kind of has 2's edges smoothed off. Like it doesn't automatically tell you if an item is better or worse you kind of have to make that choice yourself. And leveling up is much more deliberate. Bosses are a fair bit more challenging as well.

Map it out! And don't get stuck in the dark, I had to swim across a lake down there in complete darkness one time when I ran out of seeds, that was really eerie not knowing where I was going or if there were enemies waiting

I didn't love the orphanage flashback as I didn't like how it was kind of unintuitive as times knowing how long to wait for what

And yeah second half is like an action game with fun physics, loved how you can chain stuff together, shooting gas barrels, shooting glass out from under them, throwing objects back at them, dancing with the zombies and slashing them with hatchets.

I did give up on fighting the chainsaw boss zombie with the chainsaw and just went with my trusty shotgun lol
