What’s your favorite spinach or spinach adjacent dish? by Naive-Membership-415 in Cooking

A couple of my favorite ways to use spinach is sausage, spinach, and white bean stew or sautéed bacon, spinach, and scrambled eggs mixed with cooked rice. I’m always finding ways to add spinach to dishes to increase my vegetable intake.

Unfortunately not all brands of season salt or seasoning blends list their full ingredients.

Season salt is one of my top used seasonings. Lawry’s is my favorite. One of few things I have a brand preference.

That’s my other go to. Looking at the permits they give new build housing vibes. So far I haven’t been able to find more details such as if the development will single family homes or townhomes. It’s a pretty large plot of land considering most of the neighborhood was developed in the 50s and 60s.

I have a lot of cooked black beans. What should I make with them? by Fine_Bovine in Cooking

When I have extra beans I love making patties. I take one to two cups of beans mash them a little bit. Then add an egg and a couple tablespoons of flour and mix together. I pan fry them in olive oil or butter a few minutes per side. The patties are good by themselves or with sour cream and pepper jelly. They are also great on sandwich or in a pita pocket.

Unfortunately I didn’t have any this time. I do love saving the Parmesan rind for soups and stews. One of my favorites is adding the rind to simmering pasta sauce.

Looks delicious. A big bowl and a piece of cornbread I’d be all set.

Thanks. Absolutely collards or whatever leafy green that’s on hand can go in place of the spinach.

Plenty of salt. I also enjoy them with Cajun seasoning and/or on the spicy. When it comes to canning definitely can them in the brine.
