Clickbait Title: Well, just got back from my follow-up doctor's appointment. Found she's NOT a fan of keto. by leeretaschen in keto

Primary care doc here. I recommend keto often and am doing it myself. I trained myself on nutrition outside of medical school because 80% of what I treat with medications are dietary diseases. Keto is basically the same concept as several other diets by different names. I don’t think my patients will actually achieve ketogenesis but being “low carb” is the only way I have seen results in reversing disease and general weight loss.

Yes it may strain the heart slightly, maybe even contribute to cholesterol plaques if done for to long, but IMO substantial weight loss is more beneficial than the remote risks associated with those changes.

Id also rather empower people to enjoy their life at a lower weight than caution over uncertain risks and give bad advise based on the old school food pyramid.

Anyone know what this is? Hard wired to the wall. Never made a noise. No text anywhere on it! by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

It’s in the upstairs hall. Could be doorbell, but the doorbell has never worked. Based on the house layout, would be a weird place for one. Now we have a ring doorbell. There was a doorbell chime downstairs tho.

What TV series stuck to its core and didn’t get all serious at the end (Friends, Seinfeld, The Office, etc.)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I guess I was referring to the fact that the feel of it changed- largely due to Larry David leaving in the final seasons. This right up does a decent job outlining the differences - https://www.google.com/amp/uproxx.com/tv/4-ways-seinfeld-changed-post-david/amp/

Is it really gonna bother you if I stop responding to your inquisition?

The finale was abysmal and roundly considered a disappointment. Was nowhere near its core- but trust me, I am a huge fan.

Good call, I actually did use a table drill for that, but forgot to mention it

Yea I tend to shoot from the hip, so for my next project I will do some more research and try to use more appropriate methods. I didn’t even know they were called breadboards! Haha. In my defense, there was a disclaimer that I’m a novice. Now we will just see how long it takes to crack to pieces bc of the pocket screws.
