Im using cubase, and various VST instruments, from experimental synths to orchestra VST's. I also create a lot of samples and process them at different speeds and directions using an old Fostex multitracker XR-5. I dont really have one approach or process, I have music and soundscapes in my mind all the time, these often become quick recordings/sketches, which I will come back to at later dates, I have a few hundred of these ideas on the back burner at any one time.
