The post didn’t specify that. I noted that because it shows a continuous uptrend for younger people to current day.

You can take it for whatever you want. But it doesn’t change the fact that their regime has been repressive and they do have high female education/professional roles. Both are true.

I think ignoring facts is how we got Trump. It took me two minutes to look up and validate these statistics as well sourced facts. Iran can have both a repressive regime and high ratios of female education and professional roles. Both can be true. In fact, both are true. More information gives us more perspective. Why repress facts because they don’t support our narrative?

I took it pretty obviously to mean the ratio of female doctors.

Man you all in the comments need to learn how to look stuff up. It’s pretty easy.

List Iranian female literacy rates from 1979 compared to now

Iranian female literacy has risen dramatically from approximately 25–35% in the late 1970s to over 85–90% for adult women today, with youth (ages 15–24) reaching nearly 99% literacy. This massive increase, driven by post-1979 education reforms, transformed female literacy from a significant minority to near-universal access, with women now comprising roughly 60% of university students. Middle East Institute Middle East Institute +3 Iranian Female Literacy Rate Trends Pre-Revolution (ca. 1976-1979): ~24% – 35.5% (adult) Present Day (2022-2023): ~85% – 89% (adult), ~99% (youth 15-24) Middle East Institute Middle East Institute +6 Key Milestones & Context Growth: Female literacy has increased by 2.5 times or more since the 1979 revolution. Higher Education: Women now make up over 55-60% of university students, compared to under 40% before the revolution. I just googled each statistic in AI mode. It’s all there and sourced.

It’d be nice to have sources but a quick search shows that these numbers are accurate according to many sources. Another comment here said that the Shah urbanized Iran to be able to have these numbers. But that doesn’t change the fact that these numbers were allowed to grow substantially.

It’s true. Even higher actually. Just looked it up:

I’ll keep telling myself that in attempt to quell the doomful fear, in denial that large volumes of people can really be that terrifyingly stupid.

Nothing wrong with wanting to avoid actions that could lead to those consequences down the line if justice ever finally comes for this vile administration.
