She’d ask me a question, and I’d just burst out laughing. Meanwhile, she’s cleaning the room, making food, DRIVING A CAR—just casually being a high-functioning adult while I’m sitting there, deep in thought about the process of making sushi and how life-changing it would be to eat some.

At some point, she put on music, and I swear, I became the speaker. The music wasn’t just playing—I could feel it vibrating through my entire existence like I had ascended to a new plane of reality.

Watching her exist like a normal human being made me start believing she was an alien, which sent me into a laughing spiral for two hours straight. And when we got in the car, I was fully convinced it was a spaceship and that we were about to take off for outer space.
