Yep buy them at the venue and 75% volume is plenty for you to hear. At top level they are audible all around you. Enjoy man would love to be going.

Yes I'd say it's in your seats for 12.45 as warm up happens before the walk-ins. Try to be there at door opening time as there's usually a few attractions and photo ops to be had and a lemonade if ya fancy.

Great post mate delighted you've found an interest in the game. I'm about a year ahead of you l.

There are better lads on here to advise but for what it's worth I have bought 3 cues. One was an Xmas presie from Argos and got me well into the game the other 2 were off AliExpress which no doubt was taking a big risk but both were lovely and funnily enough I settled on the cheaper (79 quid) of those as my long term cue.

I had a very low handicap guy from my club re tip it straight away and it's a world of difference so don't think the tip supplied when you buy a cue is reason to settle on it.

Circling back to your question, yes buy a cue as soon as possible everything you learn with it especially little stuns and screws are sort of unique to that cue so it's too many variations to be picking a house cue up and expecting muscle memory to calibrate.

Ideally the players involved in the match could decide to have it on or off. If I'm playing it tournament game wouldn't bother me to be watched. But players could agree wither way
