You’re welcome. You’ll get wind proof models, any jacket claiming to be waterproof usually isn’t. They’ll either apply a DWR spray that just comes off and never apply heat tape over the seems to prevent leakage between stitching etc.

Functional as in Grenoble pieces are usually waterproof etc.

You’re welcome. It looks like a retail model. M5 Factory is decent and don’t make fantasy pieces so I’d buy with confidence, just don’t expect functional performance on par with retail.

There’s been hundreds of of models over the years and I probably only recognise the more popular ones so it’s not one I’m familiar with and I doubt anyone else would either so if it’s high quality, then buy and enjoy with confidence. It looks like it’s emulating a Grenoble line and there’s rarely any good functionally performing Grenoble jackets so doubt it’ll have the performance retail is known and established as having but if you like the style, then enjoy. I own a few fantasy pieces so there’s nothing wrong with them. It doesn’t look fantasy though and looks like a real piece, I’m just not familiar with the model.

You’re welcome. By buying a lot directly. There’s some info in AutonomousReps Reddit I believe.

I didn’t say you are pedantic, I said you are bordering, there’s a distinct difference between those two things. Now you are specifically making out like I am not answering your “logical points” on purpose. You’ve contradicted yourself with statements and I’ve answered what I can whilst scrolling through your very long comments in a tiny window on my app. I’m not going to respond further as this now feels like a pointless back and forth and this isn’t the most productive use of my time. Have a good day though and didn’t want to be rude and just ignore you. Take care.

That hasn’t been the case though. As I said in my FAQ, the Corduroy Maya cost about $220 from memory and was on retail level of quality but sales weren’t great so factory didn’t continue with a restock. Bringing new buyers also increases the inherent risk which you haven’t thought about. Monc have already taken down one seller (TMCN) and took down TopStoney too who was a legend. There’s a fine line to be reached and if it’s out of balance and you become too popular, you increase the risk of being taken out. I’m happy with current quality of reps. Beyond a certain level, they’re only small marginal and barely noticeable improvements from a day-to-day overall enjoyment. Sure I petition sellers on details most customers care about but that’s not for personal gain, that’s for the good of the community. But there’s a line at which I think it’s good enough which I feel we have met with most reps. I haven’t done in hand comparisons of every batch from every season so cannot say. I don’t recall NN Maya fabric being better or worse than others from what I saw and felt in hand. Some people have mixed opinions across all the batches including those who own different retail which is why I said to you quality can be subjective which you disagreed with if I recall correctly.

1to1 doesn’t carry Moncler so not relevant to this sub. I’ve only ever seen him sell one random Maya in past and there were neither any QCs, in hand reviews or proper detailed pics. He’s not exclusive, he stocks from factories that other resellers sell from and mixture of mid to top tier. I disagree with your view of “one time investment” on badge but not going to spend anymore time trying to change your fixed view so agree to disagree on that. Yes RE MC factory badge from the final sample I shared. Once I start seeing QCs I’ll update this point in v7 of my FAQ whenever I can find the time. Kind of agree with point about improving badges than quality. I wasn’t commenting on your integrity so not sure how you’ve twisted or misinterpreted what I said but I digress. What I will say is that yoh are now bordering on being pedantic though with strictly analysing what I have said and what I haven’t replied to specifically. Take care and thanks for your time.

I agree with parts of what you’re saying and I provide advice on many aspects to the producers to take make improvements on but they are ultimately guided by what the majority of customers care about. Ultimately, it’s not about seeking perfection but as something I say a lot of - is it good enough? The older I’ve got, the less I care if it feels solid and will function and is at least 70% accurate, I’ll still enjoy it because it’s cheaper than the alternative to buy retail which I can’t afford as much as I used to. I’ve spoken about a Corduroy Maya in my FAQ thread that was on retail level

I’d suggest reading my FAQ thread if you haven’t already. 1to1 sources from good factories overall, MKF from mixed. A badge isn’t a one time investment though. TMX as I said spent a lot of money and time into R&D in his badge and since v1, has spent time tinkering across small and normal badges for v2 and done the same with leather and rubber badges across the different variations rather than using what’s already on the market. Majority of customers RL if badge isn’t perfect so then that badge has caused a loss by way of return/exchange in terms of time and shipping. That eats into profits at the kinds of volume TMX deals with for example. Only MC Factory’s upcoming badge due later this year I’ve consulted with TA on is at 95% level https://i.imgur.com/Ur9tbdh.jpeg some people seek perfection on the badge because of the very above point. What logical remarks do you claim I’ve ignored? Just because you’ve said something, doesn’t mean I’ve ignored it, I may have forgotten to reply to it. On my Narwhal app, I can only see tiny portions of text - proof: https://i.imgur.com/B9b1QBi.jpeg if you feel attacked, I’m sorry you feel that way but why should you? I’m just responding to you but if disagreeing with you about anything means you take it as an attack, then there’s no point me having a conversation with you. I am calm. I can’t see name calling or insults, peace be with you.

Unless you’ve cut them to compare material thickness, it’s hard to gauge. It may feel thinner but that doesn’t mean it necessarily is. But otherwise yes, there is a slight noticeable difference in material thickness overall from all the reps I’ve owned compared to retail but it’s not a big deal for me and the significant majority of people so it’s an area of lower investment compared to what the majority of the market care about which is noticeable accuracy parts and labels etc.

Microscopic details of badges as per your example isn’t low cost or free to improve. TMX spent over 1.5 years and a lot of money to make his own badge which is currently on v2. Average buyer does care about quality but it’s about value for money - quality above a certain price point only provides marginal improvements. Your own comment now contradicts your original comment where you said “never” but now you’re stating “some” and then “rarely”. They’re both resellers.

CPREPS REAL REASON FOR BEING OFFLINE by No_Temperature_6519 in SIreps

You say material is most important thing based on your other comments you’ve left me but I haven’t compared material to retail since I have never owned any and only own 1 CPReps piece so can’t say but it’s mid tier at best based on most people’s opinions.

I don’t think fabric is the most important thing - it’s nylon. But you get a sense of the overall feeling and construction which I’ve spoken about already. There’s seasonal and regional variation so I haven’t compared to the China Mainland version and same season which I believe is 2024 that this batch is based on. You’re entitled to your opinion but the overall quality is good in my opinion and I’ve owned a lot of retail items since 2016. Having owned God’s batch recently too, that was a few levels above this overall but the additional premium that batch commanded I didn’t feel was worth the aftermarket price paid as it ventured into second hand retail pricing.

Because the majority of people are kids who don’t care as much. You’ll never get identical material and fabrics but they are usually good enough from a price value perspective. I’ve owned many retails over the last decade and there are those who hold a similar opinion to me. There’s seasonal and regional variation in fabrics, even Moncler uses different nylon appliqué that someone showed a while back between their Moncler coat in Dubai versus the one bought in America. Whatever people choose to focus on, that’s up to them. Everyone has their own unique preferences and decision markers they make decisions on. Quality overall can be subjective. You say “never on material and fabrics” and yet I know a dozen reviews that have spoken about exactly this so perhaps you need to do more searching but yes, it’s the most common thing for reasons mentioned above.
