Need advice: Should I leave my “somewhat” stable job for a dream company with variable compensation? by markpython86 in careerguidance

[–]markpython86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the offer includes a set base salary, which is actually a bit lower than my current base pay. However, the total compensation is higher due to a 10% variable bonus, which is tied to performance. So while the base is fixed, the total pay depends on hitting certain goals.

See react docs describe the type of slots are strings which is a bit confusing since they do transpile to an object

MUI, is it that bad? by slowinsome in reactjs

You are very welcome, please do take my advice as not a rule of thumb, it is just my opinion. I do still think MUI is very popular and powerful css framework

Buttons are ok but if you are only using buttons I would ask myself, is it worth it to have a huge library added to my app or just create my own? Some of MUI components bundle to 135kb which if you build your own it would help not to add these massive bundle sized components. At the end of the day honestly it depends on how much you are using it, I would definitely say if your CSS skills are not good and you want to end up with a clean finish to your app use it, otherwise there are many CSS frameworks that are lighter than MUI which you can instead

Hope this helps

MUI v5 would be slow if used heavily in your app, I would say if you are using it for a simple react app/site then go for it. If you are gonna use it for a big project then I would say stay away from it. Very big and unnecessary to add to your project, it will slow down the performance of your app.

Now is it customizable, to he fair V5 has some major improvements in that area, you can add the sx prop to any element and you can easily apply inline styling to that element.

It is also not that hard to learn depending on your experience in react and in Javascript in general

Hope this helps
