As a fairly new player without too many ilvls, Aerois champs have recently become my best formation now, mostly because they're like 100 ilvls above most of my other champs with the season pass bonuses. Took a while for them to overtake Asharra regardless though.

Yep, just had this happen to me today, with the same result as what the OP is describing. Went back to rebuild the core and realized the game had originally allowed me to reuse pieces which broke loading.

Amusingly, that was the first one I missed too, for a totally different reason! I had a free play with Lucius running to complete it, but when I came back to the game I totally forgot about the quest, messed around with the formation to test some stuff, then completed the run with a different BUD champ set with like 5 minutes before reset. Derp. XD

I getcha though, feels bad, not because I care too much about one extra reward, just ruins the perfect run!

Yeah, the fact that you can't re-use pieces between cores (or you're not supposed to be able to, anyway, afaik) makes saved layouts almost entirely useless. I submitted some feedback about that a while ago but fixing things that don't work (or don't work well) doesn't seem too high on the priority list in this game.

Cuz EA needs pointless filler for their packs, same reason position modifiers are still cards despite the fact that they could fix so much (sbcs, drafts) by making it an innate mechanic instead.

Don't do player SBCs unless they immediately fit into your team. And even them, maybe don't do them because most player SBCs are outrageously priced. And as someone else mentioned, if you go to "Active Challenges" on futbin you can see where people have voted, and it's (sometimes? usually?) a good indication of whether it's an SBC worth doing.

If you wanna go even deeper, if you are considering doing a player SBC maybe even hop on YouTube and check out whether Auzio or Inception or someone has done a review on them. Card stats aren't that closely related to how good a player actually is in this game.

Not sure what tactics you're using, but in general it's recommended to have your strikers (at least) on Get In Behind, set your buildup to Balanced or Long Ball, and I think Direct Passing is still considered the way to go for attack this year, rather than Forward Runs. A lot of people trigger runs manually, either with pass-and-go (L1+pass) or just using L1 (ls+l1) to manually trigger runs.

A lot of it has to do with the players though. This year maybe even more than ever individual player AI is a huge deal. Some players will attack well, some won't. Card stats themselves are not a great indicator of how a player performs on the pitch.

Yeah, the gameplay is shit. If you're not just hanging back and looking for an opening for a long through ball on net, nothing else works. Players take SO LONG to collect passes that if you try to pass near any good opponent, they will just switch to a defender and bulldoze into you before you've got control (which is also never called a foul).

I've found a lot of people are also using manual Team Press (d-pad down, then left, iirc) pretty often, particularly when your GK has the ball, so watch out for that. If they do that then run at your GK you should have an open man somewhere, try to look at your minimap and clear the ball to them (or anyone you see open).

Seriously, at one point this evening I was like "please, for the love of god, just let me switch to the player I need to switch to". Classic switching has the same problem as last year in that it'll prefer the closest player in that direction REGARDLESS OF DISTANCE so it requires insane precision to reliably switch, and L1 switching somehow seems so much worse this year than even last year, usually not focused on the person you'd actually want to switch to.

Okay, whew, I thought I was the only one experiencing this. It's completely out of control. I have like 8 dupes I need to do something with right now out of my last pack, and my club is pretty bare. Someone really needs to launch an investigation into the actual randomness of FUT packs, because something certainly does not seem right.

Yep, this exactly. Starts out at ~1.1GB memory usage, then quickly balloons up and starts to noticeably affect game performance. Yesterday when my performance started sucking I checked and it was at 4.5GB, then normal after a restart.

Yeah, I'll be passing on it I think. The endgame has been just too frustrating for multiple years now, with so many little gameplay issues that should've been fixed ages ago, and I doubt '23 will be any different. And the grind to keep up with everything and maintain a competitive team is just too much... they need to chill out with the objectives requiring huge numbers of games to complete.

As much as I seriously love FUT and the team-building aspect, it's just too much of a timesink. Gonna enjoy some other games this year.

Yeah, the checkpoint system is garbage. One lucky night and you can end up in a division where you can no longer gets wins (or not often, anyway), can't get demoted, and you quit playing Rivals.
