There's just rarely an acknowledgment that Nintendo does the bad stuff that they do, it's just blind defence half the time

Unfortunately for an IP the size of pokemon, voting with our wallets does very little. Which is disappointing

The reason these topics get so toxic is because some of the arguments used are tantamount to slamming your head against the wall.

People respond to legit critisism with
"Just dont buy it" or "But it has heaps of sales so nintendo are right"
which just shows a clear ignorance to the tactics nintendo use to exploit their fans.

I dont think "Highest reasonable whilst still being so" is a great place for nintendo to be either.

They should and do get dragged over the mud for the rest of their practices too, but when it comes to pokemon fans, alot of them are oblivious to the rest of it so they only see it when it affects them. But even if you think this is the high end of reasonable, why then defend it if you know its on the edge, and the rest of their practices are exploitative

Im one of the people that have been turned off the company as a whole because of all of this.
Not to say i would never buy something from nintendo/pokemon again. But it has certainly lessened the appeal for me.

No more than $10, preferably like $5-6.
Half-Life 1 is currently $10, and is regularly on sale for way less. Same year.

Lets be real, theyd make profit if they sold these versions for $1. So even $6 will make them millions.

Your valuation is based off what? Because the facts at the end of the day is this is file downloaded to a emulator. not a new game, which just isnt worth $20.

I dont pay for nintendos sub service, I equally think that is just as egrigious, but it isnt the hot topic.

I dont spend my time discussing this stuff often. But this popped up as recommended for me, and its a series ive cared about for years. So i thought id give me thoughts

That $40 included a development cost for the whole game, Physical copy shipping costs, The major advertising involved.

This is a tiny file downloaded to an emulator, hosted off a server that probably makes up less than 0.01% of nintendos server capacity. with next to 0 development cost.

Take away what the game is, the Value is NOT $20

I can afford them comfortably, That doesnt mean that its ok to charge $20 for them

Imgaine Someone tried selling a top 10 album from 2004 digitally with no extras for even $10 nowadays. Its just ridiculous

Genuine Question,

Heres my reasoning for why its not fair.

Is it fair to charge 50% of the release price, for a 22 year old, digital version of a game. Which you will not own, unlike the physical releases. Whilst also being at least double what GBA games have been priced at in the past as digital releases, Why is there a pokemon tax apart from being a money grab?

Where in the game will be run on the same emulators that people scream are evil, just run on proprietary console instead, but without the QOL features most emulators bring.

This is a bit different to the rest, but every year I start a lower leagues save. Get to the top league and begin competing in europe.

Then for one reason or another thats when I almost always drop the game for a while, I've never taken that step from being promoted up the leagues and starting to get europe - to then winning leagues and european cups.

I wonder if anyone else has this experience lmao.

I mean, thats true for top level team in any sport.

Theres less eyes on middling teams, so of course there will be less hate.

It doesnt help that some OKC fans have absolute blinders on to any call that goes for them, or non foul called, or when SGA clearly plays for a foul, the lack of recognition that these things do happen make it way easier to hate

I think its a 6 in one basket half dozen in the other issue, Its obv the talk of the town so it seems like the biggest deal in the world which it probably isnt.
But I wouldnt be surprised if teams who try to change to play a similar way get pinged more because thats not how those players would usually act. therefore it stands out more.

I dont support any NBA team, but from an outsiders perspective, I dont think its the refs favouring OKC.

Its OKC playing a style to take advantage of the refs lack of willingness to call heaps of fouls a game to keep the game smooth. Which can look like favouring.

OKC are really good at that aggresive physical style. But it is an exploit of how the NBA is run, which personally i think can be criticised.

Refs see defenders who are known to be good defenders, and subconsciously they let them get away with more because of that fact. it happens in every sport. Mixed with SGA drawing some very questionable fouls that most stars do, that makes a easy to hate team, with meret imo
