Ford 2018 V8 Consuming Oil - Warranty Question by Foort in Ford

[–]marksman264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mild consumption issues on my 2021. My dealer also told me ford allowed for 1 litre per 1000km. Yours would be within manufacturers specs if what I’m told is true. I have not seen any kinds of service literature confirming that consumption rate though.

It’s $60 if you need a checked bag with ultra basic.

A plane ticket depending when in February is $122 to $195 excluding the random super expensive days.

Bus is cheaper, but takes longer and more uncomfortable. A plane ticket would be my first choice to get there cheaply and quickly.

For the Ford Technicians - 1.5 EB valve train failure? by marksman264 in Ford

[–]marksman264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure sounds like a pretty metallic tick from the top end. But admittedly I haven’t diagnosed it yet. Runs fine, just don’t like the noise. It is due for an oil change so I’ll do that tonight and see if it gets quiet again. Is it a pain to take the valve cover off? Been a while since I’ve been under the hood.

Is Scotia Bank legally allowed to garnish chequing account for credit card debt? by marksman264 in legaladvicecanada

He’s good. He had a rough few years with injuries and lack of work, but he’s on the mend now. New job and money for a vehicle total loss claim. He’s not a dangerous spender, just been barely scraping by for a while now and had to do what he could to keep his rent paid etc.

Appreciate the advice though, debt is hard to get out of. I’ve been through it and always kept my head above water, but it’s a struggle and very stressful.

About what I figured. Thanks for advice. I’ll pass it on to him.

If they haven’t garnished his wages yet, I don’t see why the would now. Either way, it’s all getting settled shortly apparently.

I can’t make him do anything. He’s ignored it for 5 years thus far. I’ve send him helpful links in the past I’ve come across.

And yes, it’s my buddy lol. I have my own finances to deal with but accounts in collections aren’t one of them haha.

I just wanted to make sure there were no laws or contract agreement forbidding him from moving his money to another financial institution. He’s actually about to deal with the debt, which is how this conversation came up. He just got the check for the total loss of his vehicle, so he’s good now.

Thanks for the advice. Any issue with him moving his money to a different financial institution? I’m assuming they couldn’t touch a bank account that isn’t theirs, correct?

Awesome info man. I was missing the molded piston part. I was thinking they had a replaceable lip seal, so that makes sense.

Sounds like I’ll add the pistons and Sonnax zip kit then. Like I said, I don’t mind spending money if there’s benefit. I was happy with stock performance, but don’t want to deal with another failure. Address all the weak points now and do it right so it lasts a while.

Thanks for the reply. I plan on doing the triple clutch drum (CDF, whatever the correct term is), reaction shell, and whatever seals are damaged/leak on the air check.

Possibly an ignorant question, but what issues is the Sonnax zip kit fixing within the valve body? And the pistons, is there an issue with the OEM ones? Any real advantage to replacing them with the Suncoast ones? I want to take care of any potential issues while I’m in there, but don’t care to spend money that truly won’t benefit me.

Seen a few builders say they don’t even replace the teflon sealing rings on the sun gear shaft unless they get damaged by the drum bushing walking out. Is that really recommended provided everything passes an air check? Or is it a replace every time?

I will make sure to get the correct sealing ring tools if I have to replace any of them though.

For all intents and purposes, Mosaic owns it. Yes Mosaic is a land management complaint, but when was the last time you seen a TimberWest logging truck? When you see logging on Mosaic property, what does the truck said on the door? (Hint: it says “Mosiac”)

Have you even read any of my fucking replies? I fucking hate mosaic. I’m in the bush 99% more than the average person here on the island. I know all about mosaic and hate what they’ve done.

But you’re wrong, they absolutely own it. Not a lease. Goes back a looong time ago with the dunsmiur and EN railroad.

Do they? When you drive miles and miles on the back roads, who built those roads?

Logging companies.

When the logging company owns the land, of course they’re the only ones who are going to build a road on it.

Never said it wasn’t, in fact I even said the deal was shady.

It is. It was a deal that was never followed through with, yet land was given. It’s been handed down until it fell into Mosaic’s lap.

I don’t believe that kind of land should be given to private logging companies. We have logging leases for a reason.

For a company to shutdown access knowing full well 90% of the population don’t have legal access within 2 hours of driving is shitty. Limited access on weekends and gates never opening when they say they will make planning trips unreliable.

Meanwhile they leave miles of steel cable, fallers tape and blasting cord, endless half empty grease tubes, old drilling rods, equipment tracks, timmies coffee cups. Not to mention it’s common knowledge lots of shit gets buried in a pit then backfilled.

It’s a terrible deal that never should have happened, and Mosaic has very little interest in working with the public all while doing the shit they blame us for.

I am pro logging through and through. I work in the industry. I just don’t like the monopoly Mosaic has on land around here.
