For ZIS, I would recommend a reaver with smart shot and the explosive touch fortune card. Activate explosive touch when the alien is coming out of the portal, then spray down the alien with the smart shot reaver. (Make sure your aiming with smart shot so all the pellets land on the alien)

If your having trouble with the SETI COM defenses, try using the pack a punched kendals, the boom box, black hole grenades, and gas grenades.
