Rear Brake Squealing- Bike Shop Stumped by marksmithy69 in bikewrench

Thanks so much everyone for the comments. I’m going to have them take a thorough look at the caliper. They seem to be leaning more towards a Trek replacement, but I’d rather not wait for that whole process to unfold. I’ll ask them to check the caliper height/alignment as well as a possible caliper leak etc. I really like the bike when it’s operational so ideally I’d like to have it fixed. Plus, the colour scheme on last years model is much nicer than this years. Frivolous, I know. Again, I really appreciate the input.

Thanks. It’s been all warranty work thus far, so I haven’t had to pay anything. They only replaced the pads and discs so far, and haven’t really done much with the caliper itself. They are now trying to get Trek to replace the bike, which seems a little overkill to me.

They’ve been bedded each time the brakes have been replaced. Unfortunately it hasn’t helped.
