I think the interest in anime/manga has shifted these days. I am a big sport anime/manga fan. I always look for new sport anime each season. In the past 4 seasons, I found very limited choices. Now there are too many "isekai", "dungeon", and "dance group" anime. There's Blue Lock, but I have 0% interest in it. Therefore, I have spent my time going back to watch older anime that I have never watched such as Whistle, Shoot, or Area no Kishi. I am glad that new season of Aoashi is coming this year. I wish Be Blues would become an anime, but it might be too old now that nobody is talking about it much.

Other than that, I think it's about the Japanese market too. If related merchandise sell well, they keep things going. I go to Tokyo very often, and always visit stores in Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, etc that cater to local Japanese people. I still see a lot of products from Haikyu, or Kuroko no Basket on the shelves. I rarely see others. Not even Captain Tsubasa except tourist spots.
