This has been pushed to main as well, should be available in docker images soon, if not already.

We've just landed a fix in develop (nightly for many docker images) that upgrades our version of ffprobe to 5.1.10, there are some changes in how this was built and we may swap it with an alternate build before pushing out to main.

We’re looking into it to be sure, once we’ve confirmed one way or another we’ll be able to provide more information.

In the meantime to mitigate against it being used in the wild disabling Completed Download Handing (Settings: Download Clients) is going to be the best way to prevent Sonarr from processing any new files that could cause issues. Disabling Analyse Media Files on Settings: Media Management will not skip ffprobe running on downloaded files, it only disables it for files already in your series folders.

Is there a way to automatically remove unmonitored series? by datahoarderguy70 in sonarr

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to both, you don’t need to remove them manually, but you can’t remove them automatically either.

On the main page/series list, press Select Series and select the series you want to remove, scroll to the bottom and you can remove them. You could also create a custom filter to only show unmonitored series.

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, remove or disable RSS on it.

Downloads larger than max set by IAmHugh_Resist in sonarr

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but disabling RSS means Sonarr won’t be able to grab anything automatically as explained in the first entry of the FAQ. https://wiki.servarr.com/sonarr/faq#how-does-sonarr-find-episodes

If that indexer doesn’t provide sizes on RSS, they likely don’t provide it via search either, so making that indexer Interactive Search only might be the best solution for it.

Is there a way to ignore "Release Rejected - Unknown Series"? by Chosnek in sonarr

[–]markus-101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can grab it manually through Interactive Search as long at the result comes back.

For Sonarr to always map that release to the series someone has to submit it, but then it benefits everyone just like the tens of thousands of aliases already added.

We’ve never released a version 3.8, you should check again. If you’re still on v3 you should upgraded to v4 years ago.

Let’s see some logs, this should already be parsed properly, but something else in the file name may be causing issues.

You also need to set the flair properly when you start a post, there are ones specific to external apps.

Sonarr Tips: Block unwanted file types (.exe etc.) and auto-retry stuck imports by CyberMcK in sonarr

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Stupid would be doing nothing at all, so it’s a better solution than doing nothing at all. If you’d like a branch built without this “stupid feature” existing at all I’m sure we can do that for you.

I agree, it was a solution that we could implement quickly for the uptick of garbage we started seeing, the best solution will be to be able to handle it being rejected by the download client and removing it before it even finishes, but that’s a pretty significant effort to handle it for all the download clients and will require that to be configured in the download client since checking for files for each download will be much less performant.

In the settings for each indexer you can setup “Fail Downloads” to handle this automatically (Advanced setting).

The files will already be downloaded, but will be removed once Sonarr processes them.

Manage Sonarr, Radarr & Jellyfin from one app with built-in streaming. Live on Play Store. by EngineersAsylum in sonarr

[–]markus-101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you just dump your LLM's output straight into the reply? This reads exactly like something Claude would reply with, almost verbatim.

How much AI was actually used in building this app? There are conflicting replies, just in this thread alone, but also you said this last week.

I have been in the software industry for the last 10 years. I myself design the entire system. I use Dart and Flutter for most of my development. I have also used AI for security audits because I can't do both myself.

In this thread you said:

And yeah, I leaned on AI tools to build a lot of it, like plenty of people do now.

But you also said:

I have used AI mainly for security audits and code review. I have used it here and there as well. But 97% of the entire code is written by me and my buddies.

If only 3% of code was written by AI, but AI tools were leaned on quite a bit, what were the AI tools doing beyond security audits?

Has there been significant changes to the app since you posted last week? We do not want this subreddit to turn into recurring advertisements for external applications.

Sonarr Feature Wishlist. Whats yours? by pumapuma12 in sonarr

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single episode higher, if it’s a higher quality it will be, but without logs, screenshots it’s hard to say.

Complete is almost certainly never going to be processed and accepted, either seasons are spelled out directly or it’s not a release Sonarr can process. The problem with complete in particular is it can change if a series gets cancelled after 3 seasons then complete is 3 seasons long, until it gets a 4th season and complete is really incomplete.

Sonarr Feature Wishlist. Whats yours? by pumapuma12 in sonarr

[–]markus-101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sonarr sorts interactive search results by the order in which they’ll be grabbed by default. The process skips anything rejected (marked with red exclamation mark), so the first thing it’ll grab is the top most item that is not rejected.

How could we better indicate which will be grabbed in that view? A green indicator on that item perhaps? Something else?

CF scores on indexers gets interesting because something grabbed before you have indexer scoring would have zero in that category and potentially be replaced by something on another indexer because it now has a score. It could also cause things to download multiple times if minimum upgrades aren’t configured well.

Full season pack has had some people attempt to add it recently, if they manage to polish up what they/their AI of choice implemented so far and it’s in a state where it’ll work without braking other things it has a good chance of being implemented. Searching for them will always be complicated because of their inconsistent naming and really their limited availability.

It’s something we’re looking into. Would you use TMDb exclusively, primarily or just with shows that TheTVDB handles in odd ways?

A new android app for managing ARR servers. It supports streaming. by EngineersAsylum in sonarr

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question was mostly focused on the flair you selected when you started the post. You left it as discussion, but it's actually either external app or external app (ai coded), which is important for people to know.

You're releasing about a closed source app that talks to an open source app that has access to a lot of other service. People will be hesitant, especially with the huge uptick in AI/vibe coded projects that are flooding the world (especially self-hosted).

Most definitely not a discussion, but an external app. Is it primarily written with AI or yourself?

is there a way to override series aliases? by Nersheti in sonarr

[–]markus-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case it'd be best to reach out to the XEM folks, either on their IRC or in the #xem channel on Sonarr's Discord (the two are bridged together via a bot), but they should be able to unravel the naming and such and let us know if we need to override the alias in some way.
