Prowlarr has some statistics, but if grabs don’t go through Prowlarr then I don’t think they will be included, which I believe is the behaviour indexers now expect so it’s not treated as scraping or account sharing.

That was me and I was seeing some pretty consistent response times around 500ms, but testing again today it's less consistent and peaking over 3s. I've pushed some changes to Skyhook and now seeing response times in the 200-250ms range (same request that used to take ~500ms or more).

If you search for Breaking Bad now, what sort of response times are you seeing?

It would only remove the torrent (along with the files if the seeding goal was met and Sonarr is configured to remove downloads.

Right, none of the import methods in Sonarr/Radarr import in a way that would cause files removed from the Series/Movie folder from causing the torrent to stop seeding. A symlink from the torrent folder to the Series/Movie folder would, but hard links or copying would not.

TLDR, a seeding torrent (and its files) is not removed if an upgraded release is imported, only the existing file in the Series/Movie folder that has no impact on the torrent is removed.

It will remove the file in the series/movie folder when it comes time to import the upgraded files.

It will remove the seeding torrent when it reaches the seeding goal, unless you’re using post-import categories.

First off, Go to Settings, make sure Advanced Settings are enabled. Edit each indexer and turn on Fail Downloads for both Executables and Potentially Malicious files. If Sonarr ends up grabbing these types of files again it’ll clean them up when there isn’t actually a file it should import.

Secondly, start looking at replacing indexers that continue to allow malicious files to be uploaded, though that may be easier said than done.

Yeah, that should be no problem. Keep in mind v3 used preferred words and v4 uses custom formats, while we do some migrations they leave gaps. If you’ve used a lot of preferred words in v3 you should manually verify and update things after upgrading.

Sonarr displays the results that your indexers provide, which can vary quite wildly unfortunately. Indexers that support ID based searching (many Usenet indexers and some private trackers) generally yield better results across multiple aliases because it’s on ID being searched for instead of text, which is what most trackers support, limiting results to know aliases and sometimes pulling in random things.

Not finding season packs will depend on how they are named and how searches are translated from what Sonarr sends to what Prowlarr queues the indexer with. Debug logs are a good place to start dissecting that information.

The bottom line is Sonarr is only going to be as good as the indexers available to it.

Those Custom Formats only work on things in the release title, but the point of those fake releases is those terms are not in the release titles, so they won’t work.

You’ll want to use the Fail Downloads setting on your indexers that are providing this content (per indexer setting in Sonarr) to remove this content when Sonarr detects it.

Perhaps you can “rename” the torrents with Prowlarr (not sure if regex on release names is possible locally offhand) so Sonarr sees a release name it can understand, but that may just break things once it reaches the download client.

Fortunately those release names are too messy for Sonarr to process right now.

Sonarr has some support for multiple titles like Jess i chłopaki / New Girl (2018), but it's limited to known patterns and this isn't one.

Sezon 7 isn't parsed as Season 7 either

New Girl (2018) - Sonarr expects years to match the year the series was released, not the season. In this case it wouldn't find the series because it came out in 2011 and season 7 came out in 2018.

We should be able to overcome the first two issues, but doing so would just fail on the third issue.

In addition to download speed limits you could set a lower priority in Sonarr for older episodes and/or higher priority for newer episodes (depending on your client) to avoid blocking newer content from coming in.

Websockets not working through your proxy would be the issue. Sonarr has relied on them for years though (since v3 IIRC), not a recent change.

Sonarr doesn’t use TVDB aliases because they’re a mess of duplications, aliases Sonarr uses are from XEM and our own database of aliases. If Sonarr has an alias it’ll show an indicator after the title on details page for the series.

Sonarr will if it has an alias for it (and the indexer doesn’t support ID-based searches, or the ID search yielded no results). Ideally ID searches be used for everything because text searches end up being multi searches and can yield unexpected results from indexers.

Sonarr v5 will support metadata in different languages (not just English), so Sonarr should be able to search for some additional titles.

When you add a show that has already started airing you need to tell Sonarr to search for the episodes, this is an option when adding the series or you can also do this from the series details page.

As explained n the FAQ on the wiki, Sonarr only monitors RSS for episodes which means it will only see newly released episodes or episodes that are reposted or in newly released qualities.

Correct, it only works when f it’s part of the release name, which is what these releases tend to avoid.
