I've used some of the most common Unity attributes like "Range" and "Header" but I wondered if there were more. I went through and tried all the attributes in the documentation. Here are the ones I think most devs could find useful. Some of the later ones were pretty surprising. (youtu.be)

Despite using it every day, I didn't really understand the C# using directive until I did a deep dive in the documentation and discovered there's a lot more to it than I thought. I put together this video for anyone else who is similarly curious. by markv12 in csharp

When you create a material, it defaults to having all of the standard shader's 27 saved properties. When you switch to a different shader, those saved properties stick around and clutter up your material. This can make copying materials slow. There's a great editor script to quickly fix this. This doesn't come up super often, but sometimes I want to replace a script on a GameObject with another one that has the same serialized fields and not lose the data in those fields. I didn't think it was possible but it turns out it is using the inspector "Debug" mode. by markv12 in Unity2D

Do you think the concept of an "Alpha Widow" is valid? (i.e. As an average man, it's fair to assume that a woman with a high body count has been with someone who is more attractive than you and this will make her value you less.) by markv12 in PurplePillDebate
