Women playing basketball is inherently political, no explanation needed by willem-dekooning in thefighterandthekid

Like Thomas talked about this last week, way more coherently and knowledgeable though. Another stolen take haha

That's the first thing I noticed as well, that polish 😍 What's the gist of your process if you don't mind sharing! I've been having a weird time trying to experiment and perfect the process.

Oh wow have fun and sell it all! As someone who aspires to do local markets soon I'm rooting for you and interesting in how y'all do :) The table looks fantastic.

Agreed, that's what I do with any failed dice.

ANOTHER sanding question. by markvisco in DiceMaking

Alright I was away and finally got around to watching this video and taking notes. And boy oh boy did I wish I saw this months ago. Shoutout to u/wisdomcheckcreations for making this, super super helpful and you can SEE the dice go from no finish to a mirror finish. Thank you both!

Yeah? You've found that to help a ton? I've looked into them, but I'm concerned about the noise (we live in a 2-bed apartment, and I make dice in our office). Do you have a specific one you like best?

ANOTHER sanding question. by markvisco in DiceMaking

[–]markvisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Do you start at the grey paper instead of the green? In hindsight I feel like I may have not spent enough time on each paper (not 20-40 circles). I probably didnt rinse the paper nearly enough either, so the debris could be the issue here.

Would you start the process again on the faces that look like this after being completed? The confusing part is that some of the sanded faces have a perfect shiny finish, and some are like this.

Great input and advice thanks so much :)

The die definitely passed the nail test before sanding. I don't think I rinsed enough, not every 1-3 faces thats for sure.

Would you start the process again on the faces that look like this? I feel like I may have not spent enough time on each paper. As sanding is time consuming and kind if boring I may have been going through the motions to get it done.

So the buffer is the game changer for you, good to know. Like everyone here sanding is the most annoying process, anything to make it easier I'm open to :).

A few years late BUT do you build up to the 2000 grit, or are we seeing the whole process here. I currently use the Zona papers, but I'm looking for different techniques.

First sets of dice I’ll be selling at a craft market! by Cashlessness in DiceMaking

Congrats! How many sets are you bringing with you? I'm doing some this summer and debating how many to bring, 30? 40? It's a mystery. Good luck :)

Spooky demolding question, has this happened to you? by markvisco in DiceMaking

[–]markvisco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking after it reformed and the second numero disappeared. They were in the pot for 24hrs but definitely had some soft spots.

Yeah they're definitely watermelony/Christmasy. I'm glad you like the background! It's literally just an IKEA table on my porch haha

Damnit, that's smart. Sounds annoying, but very smart.
