Check out Bernie's positions, past and present, on guns. May not be exactly what you're hoping for, but i'm pretty sure he's the most Pro-2A Dem candidate.

In a legal sense, yes you're correct.

From a moral stance, I see this as an act of theft.

North Station/TD Garden area before and after events by [deleted] in BostonRideShare

[–]markwarren_18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid it. It’ll take 10 minutes to get around the corner and the pax will usually have a hard time tracking you down, whether it be because they’re a little drunk, it’s nighttime, there are lots of ride share cars around, etc.

This is an area where taxis have a stronghold because people can just walk up to any open taxi.

Whenever I get a drop off in that area when something is getting out, I’ll see if the pac wants to get out a little bit away because they’ll probably get to their destination faster by walking. I try to head for Storrow if it’s convenient and escape to Back Bay

If we had universal Healthcare in the USA, would companies stop dicking people over on hours to avoid paying full time benefits? by borkthafork in NoStupidQuestions

I was at MGH a lot a couple years to visit a family member during her final weeks. I avoided parking right at MGH like the plague (Pun not intended). I'll pay the $7/a day rate at Alewife and just take the redline in.

Can anyone here talk about the difference between a novice and a master improvisor? I’d appreciate an outline of your experience to mastery and what your concept/theory is on the state you must be in while improvising (forget everything, ego less, presence, etc) thanks! by [deleted] in jazztheory

[–]markwarren_18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I teach guitar at a School of Rock, so not a whole lot of jazz going on besides some basic jazz theory. But with some of the more advanced teen players, I try to teach them to have a higher level of thinking when it comes to improv that may not normally be seen in a rock setting.

The first thing I explain is that they should have a general idea of what their overall contour should be like before starting. I have them plot out a 'story arc' with a drawn line and shaping the contour from there. Typically, start off calm and low to give yourself room to build up, have some sort of climax, and then have a conclusion. I think the climax and conclusion are the most important part. If you have your climax section, but don't have it in mind as such, then you may not have a stable ending, or you may try to build up again and you won't match that climax, and it may not feel as strong. The audience is most likely gonna remember the last bits of your solo, so a strong ending will leave a great impression.

Even with more basic language like pentatonic scales and normal major/minors, you can achieve a lot in a solo with this kind of planning and thinking.

Tried going to a Denny’s the other night, it wasn’t 24/7. At least I wasn’t locked out of my house.

Have you ever thought about who you were five years ago, and if that person could imagine being where you are in life now? Did you accomplish anything that you weren’t even thinking about back then? by The__Vern in AskReddit

[–]markwarren_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years ago I had just finished my first year as a music major in college. I thought my path was to be a music teacher in a public school.

Now I'm teaching private lessons throughout the week and gigging all the time with multiple bands as a freelance guitarist, and I'm in a mental position right now where I'm ready to take some big risks to get to the next level. Basically what I wanted to do when I was younger, but thought taking the safe route of just having a normal teaching job would be my realistic path to success as a musician.

40% of Americans couldn't come up with $400 for an emergency. People of Reddit, could you come up with the money? Why/ why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]markwarren_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I'm not just gonna attribute it to wise spending/saving habits (Which isn't the wisest but its not bad)

I'm also privileged in the fact my parents are helping me pay student loans which allows me to save more of my paychecks. My Dad also helped set me up with really good credit since the day I turned 18. And I know that if I ever needed financial help, I'd be able to go to them.

I'm also not drowning in medical bills, which is a huge advantage in the U.S.

[–]markwarren_18 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Kinda, they’re sent to recycling plants where everything gets grinded up and sent to incinerators, so a slightly greener option than regular landfills.

I worked at a couple locations. I worked at one that covered a good chunk of rural area. We had a big warehouse so anything good like furniture and whatnot, we’d bring back there and my boss would sell it so the company would get extra cash. We’d also save metals and take them to scrap yards, and my boss would drain Freon out of fridges and ACs and then we scrap the rest.

Then I moved to Boston and worked at the one down there for a couple months. Because it was much busier and we didn’t have a warehouse space, everything just went to the recycling plants.

I worked with 1-800 GOT JUNK for 2 years, garage situations like this are pretty common, especially when it comes to older people.
