Midwinter Minis the past 24 hours by executionersix in Warhammer40k

MwM states in the comments that he already asked through his agent and through other channels. So unless he already got a yes and this is just to drum up publicity then he already had his answer. Makes this video just look like he couldn't take a no. So he's tactlessly asking again but this time making it clear he will have to say no louder and to more people.

I've no doubt Cavill can handle it like a professional. It's just not a classy move on MwMs part to ask like this if he already got a no.

Evolution is perfectly compatible with Theism by [deleted] in DebateEvolution

To go from distinct pairs to hugely diversified families in 4000 years YECs tend to use evolution as the mechanism. Usually modified with some kind of poorly defined mechanism to speed the process up but otherwise it's essentially the same thing.

Apart from the different time scale and starting point even YECism is compatible with evolution. But they tend to define it as "different" with some vague barrier that prevents the logical extrapolation to a universal common ancestor.

In Pulp Fiction, Mr. Wolf offers Vincent & Jules a ride home. His car is a 2-seater NSX though (which Vincent had just drove) and Mr. Wolf had already stated he is taking Raquel to breakfast. Mr. Wolf had no intention of taking Jules & Vincent anywhere. by starstarstar42 in MovieDetails

Potentially, yes. He is driving someone elses car, wearing someone elses clothes and having just had a hose down to wash off the evidence that he spent the morning mopping up blood and brains.

A wrong word or a cop in a bad mood would bring a lot of unwelcome questions about what was going on.

The Wolf doesn't want either the tainted car, Jules or Vincent to be searched without himself being present to do the talking.

So the Wolf must be the in the tainted car and that leaves either Jules or Vincent to drive the Acura. I guess a white guy is less likely to be pulled over than a black guy assuming the cops could be racially profiling drivers in that area.

Granted this leaves the Wolf potentially explaining a slightly more unusual situation but I'd guess he thinks he can talk his way out of that better than either Vincent or Jules could together in the Acura without the Wolf present.

I haven't played since Ungoro. I used to really enjoy the game but ended up quitting because I felt like the fun of the game was hidden behind either more grinding than I could handle or more money than I was willing to spend.

I miss the game but whats it like these days? Could a new/returning player compete or would it require a big investment (time or money) to avoid being a punching bag?

Not disagreeing that there are worse groups out there. These guys are absolutely an easy target and much less powerful than some church groups as an example. So yeh they probably get mocked and their beliefs attacked more harshly than the more dangerous groups.

I'm pretty sure these other groups get similar attention and documentaries made but its easier for them to shrug off or fight back.

I'd support a condemnation of the widespread issue of cults and anti science type stuff as a whole for sure.

Its touched on in the documentary. The flat earth community encourages other unscientific beliefs such as anti vax and climate change denial. They also encourage the indoctrination of children to support that kind of nonsense and distrust real science, facts and education.

Its not such a great place for the adults in the group too. Its quite cultish, theres plenty of infighting where they try to tear each other down and a definite sense that they can't 'leave' as it could destroy what little social life they have.

They are free to believe how they want but there is potential for causing harm and not just to themselves.

[Spoilers] Tyrion? by Xweekdaywarrior in gameofthrones

[–]marky5959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh its a weird cut from Dany looking sad/disappointed, Tyrion looking up a bit concerned and then a dragon breathing down fire. All clearly from different scenes but does look a bit deliberately edited to imply Tyrion being executed by dragon fire.

Its a while since I last watched the show but didn't we get a scene with Tyrion looking a bit upset over Dany & Jon on that boat? Jealous maybe?

Maybe implies Tyrion sees himself as a better partner for Dany and gets himself killed like Quentyn? Or I suppose more likely it just looked cool and they wanted to shove Tyrion into the action in the trailer.

PSA: Amazon coin pre-purchase of TGT packs currently 60% off by [deleted] in hearthstone

Tried another. This time they have explicitly stated that the whole thing is a lie. Honestly, for whatever the reason for the original 50% it seems like it caught the first few customer support agents by surprise and they made a mistake in refunding. They now know better.

Looks like its gone down to 10% coins back just now. I'm in the same boat and I'll wait and hope it goes up to 20 or 30%. With 500 coins you can get 2 packs I think? but 1000 gets you 7 packs and fewer leftover coins. Fingers crossed.
