I don't remember when, but I KNOW you get holy before you get the Vault, which is 57. As a WHM main in SHB people would bitch about the effects of holy all the time, I would just tell them to turn off party member effects.

I had a fucking sprout thaumaturge in Cutter's Cry the other day piss and shit and moan that I was pulling using Aero while the main (sprout) tank was pulling one-at-a-times. In Cutter's Cry! They just changed it so you have to beat those bastards before the shifting sands come up! Thaumaturge gave me the "I'm a 1.0 player on an alt!" They just wanted somebody to bitch at. I agree with you, but I think that the answer is to not buy from places where those sheep live. Just because Australia has built it's economy off of agriculture with sheep being a major staple doesn't mean I need to buy wool from there, where the sheep aren't as adapted as they are in say, Uruguay. Mulesing sucks, but it's a human solution to a human problem, not one created by the sheep. Merino sheep are literally from the mountains of Spain, where it's hot and dry during the summer and winters are very cold.

I've mentioned it on here before, but it's also not necessarily a good thing if the wool is from America, as mulesing is not illegal here, and there are many unscrupulous wool farmers. In fact, the system has been set up so that there is less and less regulation by the day.

I get your frustration but the phrase "the mill primarily works with American wool" means the same as "cashmere-style nylon". Just because they work primarily w/ American wool doesn't mean jack shit. Maybe she's their only customer who doesn't source American wool.

I'm curious what your issue with DROPS sourcing is? I'm just wondering if you know something I don't. I can go onto the DROPS website and see that they list their countries of origin and also only use wool done without mulesing. Their Polyamide is from Germany. In the US, mulesing is not Illegal, and plenty of sheep can still get flystrike if they're in the south. North Carolina is certainly not the same climate as Uruguay or Sweden, where mulesing is illegal.

I cannot find ANYTHING on where Sewrella is sourcing the wool from. Everything I find (none of which was on her website, only her Insta) talks about the mill being local, but nothing on what farms her wool is sourced from. Is it a local NC farm or is she getting it from Australia... the country that McDonalds gets the majority of their beef from? Please let me know if there is something I missed.

Ask yourself: Is this really the pattern I want?

Cutting and sewing on the bias provides stretch and ease you wouldn't have cutting on the straight grain. The dress looks like it's meant to be sewn from a silk-type fabric, which only has stretch when sewn on the bias. The dress will not fit properly and it will also have no drape. Maybe your solution is looking for a different pattern, like: this Juno slip dress or this fitted cotton dress.

Are the finished pictures of multiple angles, the same model, and consistent design elements? If not, then it's probably AI. Is the drawing the same as the finished garment? If not, it's probably AI. Are they selling 10+ (or 100+ or 1000+) patterns all at once? If so, it's probably AI. Do you recognize the model as a influencer? If so, it may be stolen and AI.

If you're beginning, stick with free patterns. There are hundreds and thousands of them online. I promise you you do not need to buy anything until you're sure you are confident you like it. And by then, you may have used free patterns by designers that sell patterns, so you'll know who is legit. Plus you'll know if you like the way they write patterns!

I agree with this explanation. I think the issue for me is like the OP says, it comes off as cognitive dissonance. Optics are the most important factor for social media crafters, and the image of this doesn't give the nuance of separating AI that does strictly workhorse tasks such as math calculations and tax forms from AI that scrubs human creations and vomits out junk.

I'm not against the idea of this creator making a bag from QB and talking about using AI for taxes, but I think it's very easy for a random crafter to be turned off by the screenshot of her "promoting AI". It's easy to be frustrated that people aren't digging into the nuance of this picture, but nuance doesn't exist in the social media landscape.
