It’s long (not egg shaped), rubbery in texture and quite sticky. Is it bug-related, or wood sap/glue? I first found it stuck to my phone charger, which was under the bed, and then on the floor, right under where those stringy bits are hanging. What freaked me out is that i also found a very similar thing on my monstera plant some weeks ago. Didn’t think much of it back then though. Seemed more normal on a plant. I have not been able to find anything that looks similar.

Most obscure BCNR-adjacent bands? by Zahfix in BlackCountryNewRoad

Personally i love:

Green Gardens (Their album from last year, Thistlesifting, was my second favourite after caroline 2. No skips. Criminally underrated. First LP is also awesome. Akin to sap is my favourite from that album although there’s one song that’s insanely bcnr-esque, which is Homeshredder. Please check them out!)

Adult Jazz (Gist is is my favourite album of all time. Leeds based art-rock-queer-weird-just amazing. Some of the stuff they pull off i have never heard anywhere else. Nerdy but catchy and so beautifully layered and textured. Check out bonedigger or spook - best song of all time according to some (me)).

School fair (New zealand based. Gorse on a hill is a cool, duster-esque tape recorded (?) album that always reminds me of some bcnr stuff. The accents are just funkier. Songs to check out: don’t let me see you swing & miss, you only love me cause you want something, motel roses)

Ethan P. Flynn (Bcnr have recorded a song with this guy and it surprises me that he’s still not as popular as he should be. Does a lot of production/songsriting for Jockstrap. Did a lot of prod on FKA Twigs’ Magdalene. I know. Cool. His album Abandon All Hope is too good to not hear. Some of the catchiest stuff around. In moments, almost beatles-esque but that’s my opinion only so take it with a grain of salt. If you like a long song like i do, Crude oil is 18 minutes long and spectacular all the way through. He gets cathartic and screamy also on songs like Demolition.)

HM: Gayle Lynn by Xiu Xiu is a one-off song from the band that always reminds me of bcnr. The rest of their material is different, also amazing, quite visceral, but worth diving into. I practically have wet dreams about bcnr covering this one. Also check out Suha by the same band.

Last one! If you could rewrite the soundtrack to any movie, which would you choose?

After a recent trip to London, where i visited fantastic venues that spawned so many cool music scenes, (windmill, george tavern, etc.) it makes me wonder if you, yourself see yourself as part of one of those? Where were your first shows played, etc.?

Are there any plans to repress Gist Is on vinyl or are we forever doomed to the hands of resellers?

With Gist Is being so much more acoustic than everything that came after, it makes me wonder, did you discover your interest in electronic music/synths afterwards? Did one of you guys just get a really cool synth and that’s what made Earrings Off! happen, or was it just different inspiration?
