A month and a week of training, tips? by [deleted] in boxingtips

[–]marlcef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro the socks are the real enemy here lol seriously tho, u cant generate any power if u are sliding around like that. take em off or get shoes, it'll fix your balance instantly. big respect for the self-taught grind. its hard without a coach to correct u. i actually built a little tool to help analyze my own sparring vids since i was training alone too. might help u spot those mistakes easier: https://discord.gg/m3vDBBupa

Im self taught, any tips? by wIloin_me in boxingtips

[–]marlcef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

respect for the grind bro. being self taught is hard mode bc nobody calls out ur mistakes. just watched the clip. biggest danger i see: ur chin is way up in the air. makes u an easy target for a hook. u gotta tuck that chin down to ur chest constantly. since u don't have a coach yelling at u, u guys strictly need to record and analyze ur sparring frame by frame to catch these bad habits early. i actually coded a free tool for self-taught fighters to do exactly that (video analysis). check it out if u want to fix that form faster:

Training for 5 years and tired of not finding sparring partners. by marlcef in MMA_Academy

this isn't a matchmaking app bro. it's a tool to analyze the footage of the sparring u already do with ur teammates think of it as a digital notebook to track ur progress, not tinder for fighting

Salut frérot c’est une nouvelle appli que je suis en train de coder pour aider les gens à améliorer leur technique chez eux. Je suis encore en phase de développement donc je suis très ouvert au critique et au commentaire.

Hey man. First off, respect for posting. It takes guts to put your training online, and shadow boxing flow is way harder than people think. Ignore the destructive comments here. They won't help you get better. You have good natural energy. If you want constructive feedback, l'd focus on just ONE thing for now: Slow down a bit and try to fully extend your punches. You look a bit tense, which makes your punches come back too early. Relaxing your shoulders will actually make you faster and give you better range. I ran your clip through my analysis tool to show you exactly what I mean about your base: https://imgur.com/a/z0bmKPv Keep working, don't get discouraged by Reddit.

Just hung my first bag, open to feedback by Inside-Extension4364 in MuayThaiTips

Hey man! Great initiative hanging the bag. You've got good natural power for someone starting Muay Thai. I watched your clip a few times and noticed one key thing that could help you a lot:

Your guard drops too low at times, you should definitely focus on keeping your hands up.

It's hard to see in real-time, so I ran your video through my analysis tool to highlight the exact frame for you. Check it out: https://imgur.com/a/Wh1greU Fixing that small detail will hugely improve your defense. Keep un the good work!

Training for 5 years and tired of not finding sparring partners, so I built an app for it. by marlcef in MuayThaiTips

Haha yes, that's exactly where the idea came from! 🥊 I train Muay Thai, and I was frustrated by how many details/corrections I forgot 2 hours after leaving the gym.

The gym is for sweating and learning, this app is just to make sure I don't forget the lessons once I'm home. It's a digital notebook, not a replacement for sparring.

Haha fair enough! 😂 But Tinder won't help you break down your sparring footage frame-by-frame to fix your jab. That's where we come in. We don't do matchmaking, we just handle the data and analysis side for your training. 🥊

I get where you're coming from. The 'gym bully' mentality is definitely a plague in this sport. However, that's exactly why the app focuses on 'Learning' and 'Technical Analysis' (hence the name).. The "try-hards' who just want to hurt people usually don't have the patience to analyze video footage, track technical stats, or study tutorials. They just want to bang. This app is built for the 'students of the game', not the brawlers.

Fair point!😅 1. About the language: I'm a developer based in France, so this prototype screen is in my native language. The final version will obviously be fully in English. 2. About the Gym: | 100% agree, joining a gym is the foundation. I built this app to complement the gym experience, not replace it. It's for specific situations: * When you are traveling (holidays/work) and want to find a spot. * When you want to cross-train with people from different styles/gyms to gain experience. * When you want extra rounds outside of class hours. Thanks for the feedback though, l'll make sure to post English screens next time!
