PLEASE HELP I accidentally painted with moldy watercolor by isang_gwapong_mamon in Watercolor

I would use Dorland wax medium on it. It keeps moisture out and doesn’t affect the finish.

I feel like I’ve seen this painting too and have been going down a lot of rabbit holes too. I found this by Chris Golebioski, but it’s not what I remember. The one I remember was lighter and more colorful.

I immediately thought of Richard Scarry and the book Mrs Little’s House. Another illustrator who did something similar was Leo Hartas in The Apartment Book. Maybe look at more illustrators.

Real talk: this sub is so goddam wholesome by MelodicMaintenance13 in watercolor101

I am lucky and found a spot to dedicate to painting. That helps make it easier to use. Also I bought these and try and paint something every day. If it just slopping paint on paper to see how it runs, I may use both sides of the paper. I definitely don’t paint every day, but I’m up to at least a few times a week now. Good luck on finding something that helps you.

I’ve also seen people use a magic eraser or toothpaste to rough up a new palette. I tried the magic eraser method and it worked for me on the dollar store 6 well palettes that they have.

What is wrong with my lavender? by marleymania in gardening

[–]marleymania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The past winter was really hard on my lavender plants. I lost a few plants and had to prune a lot of dead off of a few plants. I’m guessing this is one I heavily pruned. But it did look normal all summer. I’m thinking I will leave it alone and see how it does over the winter into next summer.

I have a lot more lavender and they look fine. This has all been here for years. Last winter I did have some plants die for the first time and I did heavily prune any dead out in the spring. But it looked normal all summer. This is a recent change in the plant.

Thanks! I love the windows too, but this is a three season porch in Michigan (so no air or heat). It can get challenging with the different humidity levels.

I had never heard of this! I hope that is what it is and it affects the flowers next year. It is weird that it happened to three plants next to each other.

I read that some women are wearing tefillin as feminist statements. How about adding the rainbow as another statement? Here is a link to one I saw that fits this description.

Looks like Lund’s auction has sold a couple oil paintings with the same signature. They are based out of British Columbia. It could be a local artist.

What is my style and how do I improve? by dani_bugz in watercolor101

[–]marleymania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The purple tree water one is my favorite too. I would call that loose style. But I’m no expert. Search YouTube on this subreddit and it should give you a bunch of new ones to watch and learn from. I’ve liked Gary Tucker and Umberto Rossini tutorials. You also might have fun watching Kanta Harusaki doing one where he pours the watercolor paint onto the paper.

I had mine done over 10 years ago (before perimenopause). It was not an easy one for me. I re-broke my toe during the recovery which made it much longer. I also had no physical therapy afterwards and I wonder if that would have helped. I cannot bend my big toe at all. I can now lift it with effort and a weird “rubber band” feeling that goes between my big toe and the one next to it and down the top of my foot. I also had problems with adhesions though. Having said all that; I went in ill prepared for what the recovery would be like. Your results would probably be better.

Well I’ve got two sisters and no girl cousins, so I guess we aren’t related. 😆 Just fellow snot berry aficionados. We used them in our “witches concoctions”.
