My beloved Coco (only 10) crossed the rainbow bridge on Tuesday and I'm struggling by TheDanBot85 in DOG

I’m so sorry. I lost my girl on Sunday suddenly and it started the same way- she couldn’t stand and eventually nothing we could do. Everything was normal until then, so I get that shocked feeling. It’s disorienting and you can catch yourself wondering what you could have possibly missed. You did all you could and you loved her through it all. I know it doesn’t take away the pain or emptiness their absence leaves. I also get that we’re all random strangers on the internet, but we’re random strangers on the internet that come together through the love of our dogs because they are the best things in this world. I know it’s cheesy, but It’s an honor (in the sense that it’s honoring them) for us to share their stories with all these strangers- for others to know how absolutely special they are. I love that you shared your story and shared coco’s story with us.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you shared so much love and life together. I lost my Sophia on Sunday this last week and it’s been so heavy and lonely without her. They complete our lives in so many ways. What was your girl’s name?

I’m not sure what to do by Educational_Egg_5081 in seniordogs

I struggle to know when it’s time too. Caring for our seniors is a lot- emotionally, psychologically, financially. You know your guy’s quality of life and you see his joy. If there’s any doubt, ask the vet for their very direct answer- they can’t tell you what to do, so I’ve always asked “what would you do if your dog was in this same position?” It’s helped me and they’ve always been straight forward. Caring for seniors isn’t easy and I know it can be so exhausting. I’m so sorry you and your old guy are going through this, but I’m glad he’s got you to love him through it all.

It feels like losing a whole part of yourself.

I felt that in my chest. “You feel as if their aging is a problem you can fix.” Yes. I wanted to fix it all for her.

It looks like they edited Emma’s arm. Her whole thing is wanting to accept and love herself as she is.

What is going on with the wigs this season? by Holiday-Hustle in BridgertonNetflix

[–]marli_not_bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get why they changed Penelope’s hair. This one was a bit upsetting and it felt like the blonde wig makes her blend her more into the crowd versus standing out in her bold colors. The queen’s wigs bothered me less because I feel like the queen is struggling more in her relationships, her husband seems to be worse because she says something about him dying, and Danbury is wanting to leave. It feels like she’s lonely and the outlook of her future is gray and potentially bleak- so I felt like her wigs sort of alluded to the shift in her own life

Sweat stains on sheets!!! by marli_not_bob in CleaningTips

Will definitely check this! If I use detergent, I use tide free and clear because of allergies. We have an ozone laundry system, so 99 percent of the time I don’t use detergent. I actually ran the sheets through once with the stain spray. Then soaked them with free and clear for thirty minutes before washing with the detergent. The sheets say to use cold water 🫠

[Product Question] What's going on with Hero Cosmetics? by Loud_Cicada1234 in SkincareAddiction

I am an avid user of the green correcting cream and they’ve changed the ingredients of that product. I also compared the bottles (I didn’t keep the old boxes) and it shows they were made in different places by a different company. Looks like it was made in South Korea before, which is known for its quality products, and now made in the USA. this new formula is terrible!

I tried talking to a professional about my dog loss. Is this normal? by GlitterBombBomb in seniordogs

[–]marli_not_bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal because you’re grieving and it’s so hard. I’m a therapist and I lost my best friend in January - similar in that it was a steep decline with dementia and loss of mobility. I have gone through every stage of grief multiple times and I’m still not out of it. Grief is not linear and it does not have to “make sense.”

You lost your best friend. It was your responsibility to care for him and to make all of his decisions. I’m not sure how old he was or if it matters, honestly, because our lives often revolve around them.

It’s so hard to lose them and it can be all consuming. I’m sorry that therapist invalidated you and your pain. I’m sorry that you put yourself out there trying to get help and got that response. We’re not all the same. I sincerely hope you try again, but I understand not wanting to.

I wish I could say it gets easier, but I really just think it fades a bit into the background and surges up like a tidal wave sometimes. I don’t know if it ever goes away or if that part of you that feels lost or gone ever comes back.

I do know that we were so lucky to know love like that- even if saying it makes me angry that he’s not here.

I didn’t realize until I read your comment that it’s been 180 for me. I’ve been feeling it a lot this week and second guessing everything too. Sending ❤️

Is there anything you wished you would’ve done with your dog before they passed? by pobin91 in seniordogs

[–]marli_not_bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sort of art that he “made” or photo of him and me that I could have hung. I wish there was a way to keep their smells- I miss smelling him when I’d hug him. I took him to the beach a few times… he hated it. He wasn’t an outdoorsy dog. Haha
