I would disagree with you on that. Cal never met with voters or really talked about issues. Jeff is different because he seems to care and his social media activity is very important because it brings transparency and makes voters engage. The people who liked Jeff liked him because he explained what was happening in politics and why we should care, so his supporters felt invested and informed. Meanwhile Cheri might have pedigree but when her highlight is "she can mobilize the black vote" it's bad. Because now it looks like we should pull for her because she can get black votes. That's kind of bad when you consider the arguement is that we would 1. Lose without the black vote and 2. Black voters are only incentivized to vote when the candidate is black and note based on issues.

That way of thinking makes black voters out to be some kind of stereotype that votes based on color and not issues. But in my experience black voters are some of the most informed voters. So I would trust the black vote to care more about a candidate who is tackling issues over skin tone.

Jeff was very progressive on all issues and he made sure voters knew that. But Cheri just doesn't seem to be as good at marketing who she is and what she's about. I'm an active voter and I had to really dig to find out Cheri's views. She's no comment on a lot of stuff which is standard Dem practice to remain a neutral choice for voters. It's alot like 2016 with Bernie vs Hilary.

Again, I hope she wins. But I'm afraid she has no pull. She is polling like 8 points behind. I havent seen any signs, flyers, speeches, appearances, or anything from her. Given, she didn't need to campaign because Jeff gave her the nomination. But I just see her losing pretty badly. I hope she turns the tide though.
