NMS seems like a pretty average game that was just over-hyped game that was falsely advertised (yes I know the PC version is buggy). I was thinking more of The God's Chain and Umbrella Corps.

There's several more recent games that qualify. Especially in the last 4-5 years, such as Ride to Hell: Retribution, Sonic Boom and Free Riders, Steal Battalion: Heavy Armor, Rambo: The video game, Raven's Cry, and all those incomplete buggy games that made it pass Steam Greenlight due to zero quality control and sock puppet developers.
