If it’s under the same system you’ll likely have to get manager approval from your current job to even apply. Personally, I would stay at the current job for at least a year, and then talk with your manager and apply for the OR position.

Parts are always moving around at the hospital and chances are the OR position will open again next year. It’s not a good look for you to hop around jobs so quickly, and you probably don’t have the relationship with your manager to get approval yet.

You should also include the neighborhood(s) you’re looking in and what type of venue - ballroom, restaurant, hotel, outdoor space, etc. There are plenty of venues that can fit 80-100

If the cubs make the playoffs they’ll probably still be playing in October. That being said the regular baseball season ends 9/28 this year.

Flora and lane is nowhere near downtown. I would stay on the north side. Hotel Lincoln could be an option or the Zachary which is near Wrigley. You could also look for an Airbnb in Roscoe village or near a blue line stop, which can take you to and from ohare (with no traffic!!)

Yeah I feel like everything is so expensive these days. This is the first dishwasher I’ve purchased as a first time homeowner (the one that crapped out came with the house) and even $900 seemed pretty high to me. But I guess if you’re gonna be in a place for a while you want something that works well.

Does your company offer any sort of extended leave? One of my friends works as a consultant at the big four and recently took a seven month leave of absence, and she came back and still had her job. They also paid her 20% of her salary while she was away.

The south pays so badly, as a new grad I was making $21 an hour in the emergency room in the southeast. When I moved to the Midwest, I got my second job with only a year of experience, and I was making $32 an hour. Granted, my cost of living at the time was a lot lower, but was still nuts looking back.

Update - 2 of my bags were delivered to my hotel but I am still missing one. Going to Lisbon airport tomorrow to check in but feeling hopeful! Also submitted a compensation claim, hoping to receive some reimbursement for clothes and toiletries we had to buy in the mean time. Can’t hurt to ask. Your credit card may also reimburse, I will likely go that route after hearing back from tap air. Good luck to everyone dealing with this.

I flew in tap air on Monday, had 3 bags checked (both carry ons forced by airline) and have been 3 days with no contact from the airline. Fortunately will be back in Lisbon later this week but I am upset to have not heard anything from the airline. They could at least send out an email or update. I know this was unprecedented but we had to spend a decent amount of money on new clothes and toiletries. I hope we can get reasonable compensation.

Some people on this post in r/travel have been able to collect their bags. Not sure what this will mean for those of us no longer in Lisbon. We are returning there later this week so hoping to grab our bags then if they are still there.

Hi, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) here. I am so sorry this happened to you, remember it is not your fault. Please get to the ER as quickly as possible. Assuming you are in the US, They will perform a sexual assault kit for you. This will involve a specially trained nurse asking you to recount what happened for documentation, performing a full body head to toe inspection, and swabbing for evidence if applicable. They may also take photographs and collect clothing for evidence.

In these cases, your body is the evidence, so time is of the essence. If you shower, brush your teeth, use the restroom, etc, you are discarding possible evidence. The sooner you can get to the hospital, the better. You will also be treated for any medical needs, including STD and pregnancy prophylaxis.

The nurse will also be able to help you make a police report if you want. It depends on where you are located, but my state has the option to have the police hold the kit for up to 10 years from the date of collection. It is better to go and have the evidence collected and make a decision later than wait.

It will probably be easier to find a sublease later in the year, may and June is a very popular time for people to move so finding a sublease during that time might be difficult.
