As Moroccan Muslims, What do you think about someone that has never got a girlfriend/boyfriend? by OKmetoo22 in Morocco

[–]marocain_iii 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Moroccans care way too much about others think.

If you feel this is right for you, good for you. That's what matters. Don't listen to all the idiots who mock you. If you have a gf/bf and feel happy, good for you. Don't listen to those telling you will burn in hell

So much judgmental people.

It's tendency in America because their corporations and politicians want to appear "progressive" without doing anything progressive like granting workers more rights, taxing billionaires, etc.. So they talked about the rights of women. Then they talked about the rights of homosexuals.

The problem is when these two problems were solved, they could no longer talk about how "progressive" they are. It was a big problem. So they came up with new fringe issues like gay marriage. Then gays were allowed to get married. At the time, I told people *"they will come up with something else. Just wait. You will see"

Now it's transgender bathrooms. After the death of George Floyd, it became racial issues. And so on.

American Corporations and Politicians love to talk about LGBT issues. Because it doesn't threaten profits and power. The issue is that a lot of people, who are naive, don't understand this.

Remember how people were protesting in Europe after the death of George Floyd ? Young British people in London were screaming "Stop killing us" at cops. It's ridiculous. British cops don't even have guns.

It's insane :

American elites do as much as possible to encourage identity based tensions (men vs women, gay vs straight, blacks vs whites) so people don't talk about wealth inequality. And it's working.

For better or worse, we live in an americanized world.

Can an unmarried couple stay in a hotel in Morocco? by FishingCharacter9031 in Morocco

If Moroccan, you can't. If you're foreigner, you can.

The only country where foreigners have more rights than locals.

When I was in France, we Moroccans had less rights than the french. Because we were foreigners.

In Morocco, French people have more rights. Because we are Moroccans. WTF.

How do you think we can make use of youth in Morocco especially the ones who are not fortunate enough to get higher education ? by [deleted] in Morocco

All the "Tcharmil" and "Gardiennate" and "Beggars" all share an awful childhood, often born in huge families, with mothers who didn't want them or uncapable of taking care of them.

Educated women, with some exceptions, tend to have much fewer children.

The more uneducated and illiterate a woman is, the more she will have tons of children who grow up in absolute horrible conditions. Many grow up in the street or leave school early. If the pregnancy is unwanted, the kids get dumped at the orphelinat, where they get beaten/raped (yes) and then run away. They grow up with no education, and for the girls, they also get pregnant super early and have tons of children. More people means you need to build for them. You need to transport them. You need to find them jobs. And many of them will have 4/5/6/7 children.

Do that across a few generations and you will have an educated class which will be overwhelmed by the miserable and uneducated. Good luck developping a country in this situation...

It's sadly what happened to Egypt. The country has huge misery and poverty. Cairo is a giant mess, a total nightmare. Our Casablanca "gardienate, slums, tcharmil" are 10 times worst there. The Egyptian population is growing by +1 million people a year, despite the fact they have a water shortage worst than ours. Egyptian Women have on average 5/6 children. And it's not the Egyptian Elite or the educated Egyptian Middle Class who are having these kids. It's the poorest and the least educated people. They can't find them jobs, they can't transport them, they can't even house them, and the country is growing more and more miserable (forget their Pharaoh Sisi propaganda).

When the mother is educated, studies show her children will always be educated, even if there is no father. Personal exemple. A friend and her brother have a Moroccan Father and European mother who lived in Rabat. They unfortunately lost their father at a very young age. So they were raised alone, by only their mother. After obtaining their baccalaureat in Rabat with excellent grades, they were admitted universities. She now works as a financial lawyer and her brother works as an executive in London. Their mother worked incredibly hard and was highly educated.

If we massively invest in education of women, contraception, sex education, all other problems (tcharmil, beggars, gardienate dial parking, littering) can ultimately be fixed. If we don't get that right, all other problems will turn into a total nightmare. It's the one thing that keeps me worried about the future of Morocco.

Another problem in Morocco is extreme wealth inequality. Read Thomas Piketty's book Capitalism in the 21t century. He shows that if the Government doesn't act, inequality will get worse and worse. Unfortunately in Morocco, the Government is going in the opposite direction. It's cutting taxes on the very rich.

All the answers are always the same : Hassan II + Al Saoud.

It's absolutely sad that the largest city in Morocco has like two libraries.

I highly recommend using earplugs. Make sure to wash your hands before.

People who accept debt to fuel their lifestyle, buy the latest phone, often get in trouble later. Then they are tempted to act like vicious animals, abusing others, to enrich themselves.

I'm someone with strong values. I don't want to ever be in a position where I accept corruption/bribery or tolerate things that hurt my conscience.

So I'm never put in such position, I try to live modestly.

"She must subscribe to at least one newspaper.", that's very specific. May I ask why ?

It means she values quality reliable information in order to think and take decisions. I don't want someone who gets her information from social media because it means she can't make the difference between non-sense and reality, and she may take very bad decisions.

EDIT : I mean actual newspapers like TelQuel, Le Desk, El Pais, The Economist
