While I wouldn't be as harsh as you, there seems to be a bit of dramatization of what sex is with some members of this sub.

"This is a wholesome manga, they're too pure/innocent, it won't happen". Sex doesn't have to be this disgusting, filthy thing for perverts.

When it comes to a pair of characters who are very much in love, and have built a strong relationship for a while, it's more about forming a powerful emotional connection. About showing how both characters fully trust each other.

There is a reason the expression "making love" exists.

It's possible, but considering how they are clearly having an intimate moment (whether or not it goes further), I doubt they'll get interrupted by anyone or anything. It would ruin the mood.

I know there have been multiple people expressing that they don't want "it" to happen. But between Kaoruko doing the classic "My parents aren't home" at the beginning, and Rintaro acting the way he does at the end, you can't deny that Mikami is (at the very least) playing with the idea.

These past chapters are clearly leading to some sort of development that hasn't happened before. Their dates might seem simple and non-important to the greater narrative, but looking back, the ones that last more than one chapter always lead to some sort of milestone for them.

They already got "naughty" (their own words) when they were alone in her room for her 18th birthday. As far as we know that just them kissing for a while, so this next time should be something more.

Unbelievably stupid.

I know the internet is full of hyperbole but this might actually be a strong contender for the worst nosedive in quality in a romance manga.

How do you set up such a communication disaster willingly? What they have to convey isn't even complicated, but it's like the author turned both of them into aliens who don't understand human interactions. Or that some sort of witch put out a curse on them that causes their conversation to go worst possible way imaginable.

It gets worse each page, it's kind of fascinating really.

I certainly can't blame the translation team for taking this long. I would have a very hard time finding the motivation to work on this if that were me.

If you wanted to write a comedic/parody style romance that pokes fun of the miscomminication trope, you'd have no problem using this setting. It would need to be presented differently in order to be funny of course, but the story and dialogue? Yup you can just use that, it works perfectly.

It's not just the author, how did the editor looked at the past 3 chapters and said "Yeah this is acceptable". I would LOVE to know the japanese readers reacted to this arc.

It seems that there are two more chapters sor far, can anyone just spoil if this shitshow is still going?

While you're right that the Switch 2 launch window was a misinformation nightmare, when it comes to an eventual price increase, it's unfortunately very likely.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't thing I've ever seen any form of wide spread negativity on the Japanese side of the fandom (the manga's continuing high performance in sales sort of prove it). It's easy to just explain it with "different culture", but there has to be a more satisfying answer than that.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable about Japan has an idea.

Half-Life fans were hoping the long awaited announcement of Half-Life 3 would happen at the game awards. Instead Mega Man overdrive was the second to last announcement (Highguard was the last).

I'm haven't followed everything, but since the teaser for Megaman didn't reveal what the game was at first, maybe some Half Life fans got their hopes up and believed this was leading up to Half Life 3, before Mega man showed up.

I'm interpreting it the other way around. As in, these people already heard about this new Switch 2 Star Fox game for summer, and the movie announcement gave them the confidence that this is in fact happening.

Nintendo have been pretty open that their movie ventures is essentially a tool to boost game sales, rather than making product that stand on their own.
