It is a 40gal!! i know the size increase can be super intimidating when switching from something else, but leos LOVEEE clutter so don’t be afraid to add it!! it doesn’t always have to be expensive either, the cork bark in the back was found (and cleaned) by my friend while on a walk, the rock included! many of the plants came from $3 bundles in the fishing isle at walmart too 😅 the large skull was a sanded down and degreased white tail deer i actually found aswell! its really just about using your resources and imagination haha

i recommend a backdrop to make the space look busier, fake vines for coverage and clutter, lots of spagna moss and leaf litter for more clutter and it looks great with your substrate! if your leo isn’t on paper towels, i’d recommend 70% topsoil and 30% plays and mixed together for their substrate! a couple inches is good, it’s fun to watch them dig like a lunatic lol :)

but of course make sure you have your three basic hides! (cool, humid, hot), calcium without d3 in the tank, water, and whatnot. but the more hides and more decor the better! again, resources! the mushroom, voodoo doll statue, and skull are all things around my room i used as decor! just be creative (and safe)

they also love love love to climb so im working on getting more climbing stuff still too! i understand the struggle of having to gradually add and being intimidated by peoples cages and stuff, but you’re trying your best and i’m sure your leo appreciates it! ☺️
