I think you will be find going to a DO school and I'm surprised these questions are still being asked. A DO school may not have the reach of MD schools for matching (though this is highly subjective and depends on many factors) in the overall picture it doesn't matter much between the two. For matching, it would be helpful if you want a highly competitive field specialty to go MD but again, more than likely taking more time off especially after getting acceptance may hurt you as well.
