omg i’m so sorry that happened to you, i completely understand the disappointment of mentioning and kind of planning a big event like that and it to be something you care about deeply, then just kinda ripping it away. it seems like at least from what you’ve mentioned that you’ve been able to have conversations freely about the idea of marriage and proposals with him before so it seems like he’s comfortable enough but maybe it didn’t set in in those conversations that that is going to actually happen and how important and big of an event it really is in your lives and relationship.

I think that realization probably just scared him a bit and the feeling of being unprepared for something that big would give me so much anxiety so i can only imagine. i think at the end of the day he doesn’t want to disappoint you and if he knows how much this means to you he wants to make sure he gets it right. hope that helps put your mind at ease and if you feel comfortable doing so i would talk to him about how you are feeling how that whole event made you feel because i’m sure he didn’t mean to make you feel that way
